Stephen Kearney Should Be Given Another 7 Weeks To Turn Things Around Otherwise.....

Piss off Casper. I'm a huge Anderson advocate and wasn't happy with his sacking, but Kearney deserves the time to show us what he has. 7 weeks? You're f**king high

Bazal, if we don't pull in some top notch players like Blair shortly, do you think the top shelf players are telling us they don't want to play for our club? And if this is true, what do you think the reasons are and who do you think is responsible for this? And do we have the junior talent coming through to replenish our top shelf stock?

I realise SK has a lot on his plate but so far the way our squad is playing such rigid boring football and with the 3P & PO dramas of the past year hanging overhead, this scenario would more than likely be a huge turn off for top class players joining the Eels.

SK needs to create the right vibe now to be able to attract the top shelf players we need for 2012, 2013, 2014.

We have up to $1 mill in spare cap sitting there unused. Does that not concern you? What type of management do we have to let things come to this? Do we have the right people managing our team?

If SK can't get this team playing beyond the present boring standards shortly then it could become very difficult to pull a world class player or two, that's unless a close mateship SK has with someone like an SBW, who comes to a mates rescue with a big price tag, to join the Eels 2012 or 2013 (Eels paying out the bulldogs for 2012). Besides SBW, there is hardly any other top class magnet available. SBW & Hayne will be a great magnet for good players to join the Eels.

I'm actually staggered at the prospect of Adam Blair joining the tigers, considering he spent many years with SK at Storm & playing for NZ. If SK has not got his sights on SBW then he should go all out to get Blair. If SK is going all out for Blair & $$$ are not the issue & Blair still joins the tigers what does that say about our club.... our CEO & 3P?????? Benji is a better magnet!

people have to realise the roster SK is working with is not his and when he took over he was put between a rock and a hard place as there was only sh*t talent available to him. People were sayin champion was handed to the eels but the eels said no !! this was not true he was never offered to the eels and the deal with the storm was done through a 3rd party agreement.SK wont get his roster until next year but dont hold your breath for top players as the eels are not a attractive team at the moment and will have to pay massive overs to get talent like BLAIR to come to a club is more then likely to get the wooden spoon this year. So we all have to be patient with this team we have got and its simple we have a forward pack that doesnt dominate so the halves and the backs get room until that happens its gonna be a bad year..lol..!!!

I'm just pointing out the mess as I see/feel it and who/what caused it. All of us fans are not responsible for the mess because we were not there, not making the decisions, over the past three years or so.

You can take it out on the fans who write on this forum if you want but that does zilch to fix the major issues our club now faces. The problem is at the top where the decisions are made.

Up ahead we see a dead dog on the road and point it out, does that make us wrong or bad for doing so? 3P & Paul Osborne are the dead dog, the buck stops with them. They are fully-responsible & accountable for what has become of our squad today. Daniel Anderson & Stephen Kearney are not at fault.

With few $$, built from scratch, managed a very busy service/sales center in office machines for 20 years. Employed & trained well over 400 staff during those years. Have vast experience dealing with staff, clients, logistics, troubleshooting, management on all fronts and instinctively detecting sabotage scenarios/issues/methods before they escalated. Was skilled at quickly putting out fires started by clients or staff. Conflict resolution became a speciality but I learnt this the hard way.

What I have shared here in this discussion is not a whinge, it's just clearly pointing out where I perceive the real issues reside. I did this last year as well.

You may not like what I say but that does not mean that I am wrong. The building analogy posted earlier clearly explains the circumstances and who are responsible.

And you did all that after 3 weeks of business?
Your one hell of a manager. Maybe you should be CEO/COACH since you have all the experience
Why don't you run for the board or become an advisor. You make it all sound simple and you seem to have all the answers and trouble shooting experience.

From what I have heard through the media, Kearney has a game plan but the players aren't sticking to it. It seemed his game plan worked through the pre-season games and against the Warriors. It's round 3 FFS, go take your prozac or valium and calm down.

We'd still suck even if we signed Wayne Bennett, Cam Smith, Jamal Idris, Quade Cooper, Billy Slater, Todd Carney, Ronaldo, Fernando Alonso and The Undertaker.

I think Casper makes some good (and valid) points

How does a great and proud club like Parra become the laughing stock of the league and playing like a bottom 4 side?

The only glimmer of hope is that we are generally slow starters. With a few more games we could get into a nice rythem and start winning games, or at the very least compete for the full 80min. Hopefully (im not confident though) we have things in place to sign a couple of marquee players and a couple of up and coming decent first graders for next season. Rather than signing gentlemen whos use by date has expired.

Next 7 weeks

Cowboys - home
Storm - away
Bulldogs - home (anz)
Titans - home
Dragons - away
bye
cowboys - away

3 wins from that lot (inc the bye) would be bloody brilliant

If the team played to their potential and had trained in the off season on getting the correct attacking shapes and utilising players running onto the ball we would beat the Cowboys, Bulldogs, Titans and give the Cowboys at Townsville a shake.

Give Kearney a full season to pin point the players he wants at the club and can actually get, and judge him on that.

Sounds fair enough, although they didn't do that with Ando..

Anyways, we can't afford another coach turnover. We're a basket case to others as it is.

I agree it is most important we all get behind SK/Arthur's and our squad and fully support them - that's what we are all here for, but, lets also be vigilant with those up top and not be naive as to why our club is now in this mess. We will get out of this mess but do we have the current brain power in management to make this happen???? In 7 weeks time we'll all have a very clear picture as to how those up top and SK/Arthur's handle crisis management. For starters, that spare cap needs to be gobbled up with quality stock for the rest of 2011.

You should have added 'just fkn old'..
I'm starting to feel 'fkn old' anyway...On the downhill run now.....It's all downhill....

I know what you mean. Still, the consolation is this: there are nearly 7 billion people on the planet and, barring accidents, every single one of them is going to go through it too. Ah ha ha ha ha ha!
