I watched the game tonight and i am SO disgusted. How the heck did he NOT see that he stuffed up royally? When a ref blows the whistle because a player is held in tackle for to long and that player chucks the ball out the back for another player of his team to play at the ball DOESNT mean that when the other teams player comes and gets the damn ball to play at it that the red can just say "YEAH PLAY ON"

Then Saying Justin T (Sorry cant spell his lastname) knocked on the ball when he didnt was just plan out crap. Parra were ripped off when that happened. I am pissed off at Steve Lyons and i hope he gets in alot of shit for his actions tonight because i wish there was some address to write letters too because i would love to write a LONG rude letter about Steve Lyons

Forget about the ref we had enough chances to win the game, blameing the ref is clutching at straws.

My opinion is that NO its not all the refs fault BUT
from what I saw , Steve Lyons tends to be a little over intimidated by in your face type players... Phil Bailey is a perfect example. Lost count of th e amount of head highs and times Bailey laid on the player but he was not penalised.

But yeah - its not the refs fault - just an observation

keep up with the rules dude.
The sharks have worked heavily over the last month on the "lost his legs" dominant rule.
Bailey had every right to be laying all over them.
He had no right to be talking to the ref though, which he continues to do, and it will turn out bad for him in the end.

hey the sharks deserved the win but Bailey is a loose cannon - how he played for Australia is beyond imagination.

I agree Steve Lyons had a bit of a shit game - but he's not the reason we lost....we didn't take our chances and gave them too many.

But yeah Bailey is a 24 carrat wanker - no doubt about that.....how he played for Australia? - simple Chris Anderson.

Should have been time off when Vagana scored, Vaealiki was down injured was right near play the tackle before they had to pass over him.
So Parra only had 12 defenders.
I feel for the Broncos now they tried to get 13 players on the field ( Webcke was not a player at the time he was in Disneyland) We needed 13 on field in extra time and really on both occastions the Ref should have called time off to make the replacement.

Lyons comments on sports ear says to me he wasn't getting much help.

Comments like "When you call them off side can you say their names or at least which side of the field you are on"

"Well if you call he raked it out it's a penalty!"

But the one that got my goat was "Jason don't spit on him" 3 Times the player was cautioned. . .

But again we had the game to win and didn't but in saying that some of the 50/50 calls went against us today when the have gone for us a few times in the last few weeks.

there's no doubt we could have won that game, but still, i think the refereeing was horrible and affected the game at key moments.

he blew the whistle and called play on ? eventually leading to a try

he missed a forward pass in a set that eventually led to a try before half time

he didnt stop play when vaeleki was injured leading to a try

brian smith was spot on when he said the key stat in games is how referee calls lead to tries

I've got no respect left for any of the Reff's since Harrigans retirement.
They make about 20 mistakes a game - some against us some against them.

But Parra were dreadful in the second half last night. The game should have been put away but Dykes didn't know what to do or who to pass it to when we were deep in their territory. It's like we didnt even have a set move to try. And Vaealiki shouldn't have played full stop. He was a liability and ended up costing us a try that ended up winning the game...and now he's out for the season. Deadset genius decision to have him play.

Hindy and Cayless were too tired. Grothe made too many uncharacteristic dumb plays and the knock ons were unbelievable. Given all that it's remarkable that we were in front with 3 mins to play. We coulda been on top. Never mind a better effort against the Cowboys and we'll be up with it again.

I agree with your thoughts on Vaealiki. I feel sorry for him. I don't know why we risked playing him when he wasn't ready.

We did not deserve to be near the top of the ladder, even if we won, we were very unimpressive.

You cant blame Dykes.. He is the only play maker in the side ( a deliberate ploy from the master coach) The defence marks him and we collapse. - simple

The very fact that he does come up with any plays is a testiment to his ability.
