great to see that he replied to an email i sent yesterday, i guess it helps when the emails are encouraging.

i wrote:
Steve, I just wanted to say thanks to the staff and the players, first for putting up with all the crap you have been receiving and second for getting the guys fired up.

I was out at the game on Saturday night and appreciated the players thanking the crowd.

I would like to thank John Wilson and Michael Beuttner, as I went to the abc show and they were there in the road train, it was great to see them and they signed my hat which was great, so thank you and all involved.

Everyone at the Club understands your thoughts re Benji and you can be assured that we are working hard hard to extend his contract with the Club

My thoughts were that he offers a lot more than just what he shows on the field at this stage.

I also got a reply from noyce, he has never not replied when i emailed, even if its a brief reply.. :
Thanks Emma,
Yes it has been a tough month however the most pleasing aspect has been the fact that the coaching and playing staff have stuck together & worked harder & smarter.
Naturally the retaining of Benji is important to everyone at the Club and is being working on everyday as are possible new signings for the Club.
Regards,
Steve

Being a good friend of Steve's, he's doing the best job he possibly can for Wests Tigers. He's in a difficult position as a Chief Executive, if anything he's probably got the hardest job compared to the other 14 NRL club CEO's in the game. He has to answer to a stubborn board of directors who both equally represent both factions, as well as placing his trust in Sheens as a coach. Going on what Sheens thinks is right, regarding playing recruitment and retention. It would be nice just to make the decisions, but being the head of a Joint-Venture its alot more complicated than many people tend to think and realise.

Good stuff gobbso, i cant believe people have been laying into him in recent weeks, our form slump has nothing to do with what he does. I know when the season end's i'll be emailing him again, to to thank him for his efforts this season and for his willingness to respond to us fans so often.
