Dont agree. I think its a wrong decision by Rogers.
While all reports seem to suggest that Lance is a bit of a tosser he is still
a quality established first grader and IMO one of the best secondrowers in the comp. Why wouldnt you sign him. Id take him over Bailey and co any day.

I really hope that some of the young uns do step up buts its a big jump from Flegg to firsts in a year and if they do perform one may ask...will supercoach give them a go??
I'd take Bailey, Gallen and Trouble over Thompson. Reece also has a massive up side and is only what 20 with 3 years of NRL under his belt?

Lovegrove, Ciraldo, Puohotaua and co. have been the back bone of flegg sides that have been on top of that comp since 2001 and these guys cannot be held back by nuffies any more.

Isemonger has been taken off the offical site also.

I dont think Lance would be that bad of a signing... could have done alot worse, could have got Riddell last year

What makes you think Conn is coming to the Sharks? He is training with the Bulldog's and was named in their full time squad.

Thank christ , Buddha , allah whatever !!!!!!!!!!!

The last thing we wanted was that numb fugger dropping the ball every two minutes.

We have that covered with the guys we've got.

Hey Thommo how long has that new sign been out the front of Ronson field?
I drove past yesterday and noticed it.

The joint needs a paint job..that yellowish cream and brown is a bit 80's.

Mate I know the feeling My missus has just finished HSC marking.

She is exhausted.

It a nice new digital sign that really looks a bit out of place.

They should paint the joint in club colours..with plenty of intimidating black.

http://www.theage.com.au/news/Sport/Thompson-not-wanted-by-NRL-Sharks/2005/11/16/1132016850888.html

Lance Thompson won't receive an NRL lifeline from neighbouring club Cronulla Sharks.

A day after Thompson accepted a mutual agreement to part ways with St George Illawarra, Sharks coach Stuart Raper and general manager Steve Rogers met to discuss a possible future for the backrower.

But both Raper and Rogers agreed to show faith in the young players they already have at the club and not pursue or offer Thompson a contract for next year or anytime in the future.

"Stu and I met and discussed the situation but we are happy with the squad we have assembled and won't be pursuing him for 2006," said Rogers.

"We have got a lot of faith in the young backrowers at the Sharks and believe they can do a good job for us next year."

Why is there a story in the paper about us not signing a player?
I know we've been linked with Thompson but I'm sure there's a heap of other players we didn't sign and they didn't get a press article on it.
Strange.
Slow News Day maybe.

And what are the chances Frenzy?

Good I hope.

SLE would probably be more than me at this time but last I heard, from the same source as SLE the Sharks were confident.

it sais in todays leader that:

Cronulla sharks general manager Steve Rogers said yesterday, the club was "interested" in Thompson, but was no means a "favourite" to sign him for 2006.
