Shiznit is claiming a player he hasn't watched isn't as good as a guy who has not only lead a team who wins without him to resounding defeats but actually made them look terrible by comparison.

He's then tried to tell me that the Kiwis play a conservative style of play, despite the fact that every one who has watched them against the Aussies has seen flair from their halves that Foran has simply never displayed.

Tell me nuff nuff, what have you thought of Chase's performances for Cas? I assume you've watched him. You wouldn't actually be stupid enough to chaste a player you haven't watched.. would you?

It doesn't stop you, you clearly haven't seen Foran play before. Or if you have, then your lack of knowledge is quite astounding.

There's a reason that there are only 2 people arguing Chase is better than Foran. Some dopey pommy prick and you. A moron.

It is really a quite ridiculous argument.

i never said chase was better than foran dipshit....infact i said foran & marshall is probably the kiwi combination to beat australia...but chase & marshall would scare the shit out of england

we don't fear foran.....he is'nt really anything special..im pretty sure he played as a winger or center when he first played against us??.....pick him...that means marshall will have to do more himself...and the more he has to do the more errors he'll make..or shouldi say the more errors his team mates will make cos they are'nt on his wave length...then he'll try to do it all on his own like he normally does...

Westie is the only one saying Chase is better than Foran. I'm just enjoying some quiet laughs at those who've not watched Chase and think he's still shit.

Why would you chance a halves combination mid tournament based on the team you play? You pick one and go with that. That is one of the basics of creating a strong rugby league squad. A strong, stable halves pairing.

foran could'nt dominate his own toilet during a bout of food poisoning.....all he'll do is catch the ball the pass it to benji

thats almost as laughable as picking chris sandow for australia

You don't actually think the Kiwis play the same style of football as the Australians... do you? Seriously?

You don't actually think that without the flashes of brilliance... from the halves, you simpleton... we are talking about halves that the Kiwis would have won anything?

Do you actually think the Kiwis plan to go into the game. Kick long. Push to the right, and execute the left side play, every single time?

a quote from Steven Kearney after the World Cup win...

We knew that if we competed in the grind, if we completed our sets of six, that we would get them," he said. "It was due to that pressure. We kept them in their half and they kept coming up with errors. When Billy Slater chucked that ball away and Benji [Marshall] scored, that was it." from: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/international-rugby-league/news/article.cfm?c_id=518&objectid=10544675

seriously dude.... keep going...

You'd be a f**king idiot, or you'd be watching Foran's Anzac tests.

Answer me these. Despite the losses, has Foran looked good playing for the Kiwis. Have the Kiwis looked not only good, but like themselves, when he has played for them.

I believe the answer is either no - or i've completely missed the exciting winning Kiwis side when he's been on board.

come on man... ive already answered this... it was his first couple of tests in the halves... and in the ANZAC test vs Australia... he was hardly to blame for those performances.

infact, if you actually ask most kiwi fans... they were more disappointed in Benji Marshall in those games than Kieran Foran.

NZ are playing more and more like Australia every year. NZ players these days make up some of the elite NRL players, it makes total sense to play a style of play they are used to.

Kieran Foran has one of the best running games in the competition.

This is true, how much 'flair' did Nathan Fien have when he was basically NZs best in the World Cup? Hardly any.

Don't worry, Westie thinks Robbie Farah is better than Cameron Smith as well. Says it all really.

well back to the original topic....

Kevin Locke was awesome tonight against the Panthers.... MOM by miles.

He has certainly answered Hoffman...

Locke was great tonight.

Good battle for the spot they have going. I think it may come down to which team goes further into the finals.

Great battle and don't think it'll be all that long before Johnson is having a similar tussle with Foran for a spot in the halves.
Exciting times ahead.

Pick both. f**k Fien off and play Luke at hooker.

1. Hoffman
6. Marshall
7. Foran
9. Luke

14. Locke

NZ will be a very strong team.

At the moment I'd have Hoffman as fullback with Locke as backup. I originally had Chase in my squad but I might have to replace him with Shaun Johnson if he keeps playing like this. We really do need a genuine 7 in the squad and he's better than Leuluai.

Are you actually that thick? Actually? We're talking about Foran, he's a half. What Kearney is talking about is the football any team has to play to lay a foundation.

There's a difference between the grind of actually making tackles and what Manly do. Answer my question. Do NZ play with the tactics of Manly and Australia. I.e. kick, kick, boring, boring... same set play. There is no one in the world that would suggest that.

Did NZ play with that tactic in the WC '08 final? NO. '09 in London? NO. 4N '10 final? NO.

They layed a platform for a bit of brilliance. Hohaia, Luke, Benji, Leuluai et al won them games with flair. Something Foran has never shown. Those players may not have the same success at club level, but I seem to have noticed they've got a few trys and trophys playing for the kiwis.

Compare that to mid-season games. Kick, kick, boring, boring, lose, lose.

Compare that to Foran's talents. Gus wrote that article after Foran got a double against Souths. Souths who at the time were shipping 1000 every game. How did he get them? Good step? Chip and chase? Supporting his flair forwards? Nup. He just ran over the top of shitty Souths defenders who didn't want to be there.

Do you ACTUALLY think that would work against the Aussies? It never has, and it probably never will. Take the Melbourne test. Lost by a goal or so, and never looked like being able to break Australia down. Not something that could be said of the normal Kiwi side.

Let's make it simple, as you've conveniently avoided answering the key questions.

* Have you watched Chase this year? I'm assuming you're not living in England and as such have NFI what you're talking about. But I may be wrong.

* Have the Kiwi play makers played with Foran's conservative style of football when winning against the Aussies. I believe that answer is conclusively no - but please prove me wrong. That's play makers by the way, incase you still need it spelled out - again.

* Have the Kiwis looked far less competent and unlike themselves when Foran has played? I believe they have. Not only have they lost, but they've looked unable to score points.

* Will the Kiwis beat Australia playing conservatively and handing the ball out the back to a Stewart brothers/Lyon equivalent? I think unlikely - and history proves me correct.

Try and answer sweetie. It might make you feel good deviating from the discussion and trying to be nasty, but it just goes a way to making you look silly if you keep avoiding the original points.

Can he tackle well enough? Is he battle hardened enough to pull that sort of stuff out of his arse in mid-winter northern england when they're on the ropes?

seriously dude?? are you even Kiwi??? do you even watch the NRL??

i get the feeling im arguing with someone from the UK who watches 1 or 2 NRL games a week... because every time you comment your either so far out of your depth its funny... or your spitting some of the worst stereotypes since the Wayne Pierce 'Big Warriors Forwards' theory.

Let's make it simple, as you've conveniently avoided answering the key questions.

* Have you watched Chase this year? I'm assuming you're not living in England and as such have NFI what you're talking about. But I may be wrong.

 i know far more about Rangi Chase than you do you idiot... we were following the progress of this kid from the time he moved from Dannevirke to Keebra Park than finally to the tigers system.

Dude... in NZ we probably have the best RL coverage in the world. we get every Channel 9 game... Every Fox game... The BBC coverage for the Challenge cup and Sky sports UK's coverage of the ESL.

i dont watch as much of the ESL as i watch of the NRL... but i do keep an eye on the kiwi players.

and yes... i did watch Rangi Chase on the weekend against Wakefield. Yes he looked good... he was really dangerous down that left side.

but ive never argued that he hasnt done well in the ESL... im happy for him. considering where he's come from he has done extremely well.

but lets be honest here... HE'S PLAYING IN THE ENGLISH SUPER LEAGUE!!

Foran is performing to a high standard in the toughest competition in the world... Rangi Chase is tearing it up in a competition of a considerably lower standard.

Thats why Foran will more than likely get the nod...

Just look at that Castleford V Wakefield game... Castleford let in 30pts... and were bloody lucky to win.

They had to rely on a late try by bloody dean widders to win the game...

:?

errr... yes... the kiws have done there best when theve had Nathan Fien partnering Benji in the halves to play a structured game and take the pressure away from Benji.

* Have the Kiwis looked far less competent and unlike themselves when Foran has played? I believe they have. Not only have they lost, but they've looked unable to score points.

once again you buffoon.. Foran wasn't the reason we lost. infact if you ask most Kiwi fans you will find that we were more unhappy with Benji Marshall than Kieran Foran.

* Will the Kiwis beat Australia playing conservatively and handing the ball out the back to a Stewart brothers/Lyon equivalent? I think unlikely - and history proves me correct.

youve just proved my point you idiot. we play the likes of Simon Mannering and Lewis Brown in the centres when we play Australia because they stand up defensively and they suit the grinding style of play that Stephen Kearney uses.

Try and answer sweetie. It might make you feel good deviating from the discussion and trying to be nasty, but it just goes a way to making you look silly if you keep avoiding the original points.

Seriously dude... you do realise that everyone here is laughing at you getting absolutely owned...

you need to give it a rest son... im all for a good robust debate... but i draw the line at beating up on the geniused... and i get the feeling we're probably at that stage right now.
