New South Wales full-back Anthony Minichiello has been ruled out of tonight's State Of Origin II in Sydney because of a back injury.
Minichiello had been in doubt since Monday night after suffering back spasms.
He missed most of the 2006 NRL season and representative campaigns with chronic back problems and did not train with the Blues squad on Tuesday.
Manly full-back Brett Stewart will take Minichiello's place in the starting line-up.
The Maroons take a 1-0 series lead into Origin II, having won the opening clash 25-18 in Brisbane last month.
Should the visitors be victorious at the Olympic stadium, a venue at which they have never won, it will be the first time they have posted consecutive series triumphs since claiming three straight between 1987 and 1989.

Congrats To Brett, for his selection, even though its after Minichiello was injured, he should of got selected in the first place, so its good karma for brett, not so good for mini as he was solid in the first origin, and probably deserved to retain his spot, like he did.
