Good on them I say. The Storm need to be held to account for their disgraceful display. Hope they milk them for all they're worth.

What's the point in having mediation talks then?

Whose going to gain from going to court?

Wait a minute... Storm>News Ltd..>Money for the 3 judiciary members.

Storm had already been fined $50,000. The Judiciary members got their apology and it should have been left there for the good of the game.

Now coincidently and prior to the new season commencing, the whole thing has been rekindled...

Mentioned in the article.
Maybe Bellyache is trying to get his team ready for the nrl season starting in a week's time.
Well timed?

Well, it appears that both Melbourne AND the judiciary members put self interest in front of the codes interest.

Gallop had no choice, and did the right thing.

Melbourne and the Bellamy and Co are completely unruffled by this action..in defamation the best defence is truth and when this trio of idiots that masquerades as the NRL judiciary is put in the box the real judiciary will fall about laughing as soon as they open their mouths.
If they go ahead with their action they willbe slammed with a costs order that will scare the shyte out of them.

If the NRL were fairdinkum, the judiciary panel would be made up of 1 rep from each state nsw, qld and vic.

Gallop's done the right thing here. Imo it should have ended with the $50,000 fine, rather than RL being dragged through mud for the next few months.

If the NRL were fair dinkum... well, they wouldn't be the NRL, would they?

News Ltd have given their orders, and Gallop the inverterbrate has jumped.

Only Peggy Waldron is allowed to sue people.

What orders? What has Gallop done wrong? He has to maintain the integrity of the judiciary.
The three wise men have exercised their right to sue.
Waldron also had a right to sue Brown but used his common sense and decided not to.

Any comments you make have no merit and are just a reflection of your bitterness towards the underachievement of your hybrid club.

Then why am i not bitter towards other clubs that haven't been forced upon the Rugby League community by a multinational corporation?

I have no issue with Melbourne as a city, or Victoria. I'm glad some Mexicans have gotten behind Rugby League.

That said, Melbourne Storm are a stain on rugby league in my opinion. There was no grass roots movement to get a club in the national comp, no junior clubs begging to have their players represented, no movement by fans to get something up.

There was a franchise made to replace foundation clubs as a business venture. That club is funded by News Ltd, which takes a large share of the NRLs takings. Those takings come from the other 14 clubs.

People can argue about Brisbane, NQ etc being franchises, but these are areas that love Rugby league; it would be a spit in the face of hundreds of thousands of fans not to include them. But, Melbourne?

2 premierships, a whole "sport mad" city and yet the trophyless Sharks still get better crowds. Still, the rugby League community has to prop up the 'southern experiment'.

Yet it's not just the idealogical aspects of Melbourne that offend. time after time, some of the dirtiest, most filthy behaviour on field comes from the Storm, yet most are extolled as heroes by the Media.

Billy "Stomper" Slater. Danny "King Hit" Williams. Grapple tackles, choke holds and chicken wings, and Peggy Waldron will sue you if you get so sick of it that you defy the gag order and tell it how it is.

f**k the Storm, f**k News Ltd, and f**k you too.

Melbourne were solely funded by News 11 years ago when they entered the comp.

With Ribot no longer Chairman and plenty of water under the bridge, I'm not sure they have as big of a stake as they once did. Perhaps facts should be checked.

Facts on the NRL Police Constable Timmah?

Where, oh where, does one find these transparent facts?

If Sydney's waters were as murky as the NRLs books, we could all swim without fear of being chomped.

the difference between the Sharks and Storm crowds over the last 3 years is negligible at best and if you'd like to make a bet about who will have the biggest crowds in 5 years time I'll happily take your money off you!

An "experiment" that will eventually reap huge dividends for RL. When we get an independent body running the game the 400,000 Tv viewers in Vic that otherwise wouldn't be tuning into major Rl games will be worth a fair whack of money on any media deal, also companies want their products shown in teh second biggest city in the country and pay more for that privilage.

It also arguable that the Storm couldn't survive without the few million that News put in (nobody know how much or little this is by the way!). New stadium with outstanding corporate facilities, a growing fanbase and membership, some pretty heavy hitting sponsors. Seems they would be able to match the lower funded NSW teams ok without News.

Yet it's not just the idealogical aspects of Melbourne that offend. time after time, some of the dirtiest, most filthy behaviour on field comes from the Storm, yet most are extolled as heroes by the Media.

You do realise these are all NSW and Q'land players who would be otherwise plying their grubiness in teams in NSW and Q'land don't you?

The rest of your rant was rubbish but this quote interests me. How does the "rugby league community" prop up the Storm? The only people who finance the Storm are News Limited (owners). Just like Manly and Souths and Brisbane are privately owned.
