Can't argue with '06.... but after that certain people in the admin decided to rort the cap to keep a lot of the players they otherwise would have lost.

I think the whole point is that melbourne may have won grand finals in 07 and 09 being under the cap, highly likely in fact based on current form, but they most likely wouldn't of been as successful for as long as they were if they had of been playing within the rules....it comes back to after you win a GF your team must come back to the playing field due to the salary cap...

todate Souths attack has been a one of the best in the NRL ( not just points) with a almost unstoppable left side attack, not to mention Burgess to come back on the right side. So if Souths are sh*t , then you either only like defense or all teams are sh*t.

As for the defense , as it is only round 4 completed , Souths have time to work on that and if they can improve that to cover full game then my view is they will be unstoppable in 2011.

Also why are souths 3rd in the betting markets today to win the premiership this year? can only mean folks , who are not cheap talkers are putting their money where their thoughts are .
