Why has the NRL released the 2009 draw in GF week? Is this the leadership that Gallop talks about, release something that will totally take the focus away from the biggest week in the NRL season. I can't beleive you would hijack your own event. Very amatuerish....

I dont think they wanted the draw to over shadow the grand final. I think they wanted the grand final to over shadow the draw. Just like this year, there will be some sides massively dissadvantaged by it and im sure they'd prefer not to announce it at the start of next season and have everyone analyse it to death and point out its flaws.

Hasn't it been explained in the other "draw" thread that the NRL want the release of the draw to be a part of Grand Final week?

Given after the WC we will have a coupe of months with very little RL news to keep the game in the media you would have thought they would have saved it until December to announce, if only to keep the game in the headlights.
