Stringer and Webb

Id be going after these blokes big time.Two big and hard units.I watched them very closely in the game yesterday and they are first class.

Webb is a unit.....we need a steamroller and he is it.I dont know what issues he has,but the bloke is playing in the QLD Cup.Offer the bloke 100k and a first grade spot next to his mate Prince and FFS sake sign him up.

Stringer didnt get much game time,but what he did was class,made good metres and has the ability to offload in traffic.Offer him 300 and he will gladly come to get away from Souths.

And guess what we need,a steamroller and a metre gainer with offload.If we get these two blokes I predict the we are top 8 material.We must get the forwards right,until then we will struggle.

Stringer...Galea....Skandy
Webb....Laffranchi
Buckets.

Now thats a forward pack with the right balance of oomph and skill.

i have to agree totally mate stringer would be on top of my list he is a workhorse in the same mould as o'meley never stops going forward and webb could be a handy buy also plenty of muscle up front is what we have badly missed.

Scott Donald, sure is a speedster but he isnt a game breaker, he can find his way to the line but #-o no thanx

I disagree about Donald......I think he is a game breaker.He does have suspect defense,for sure.But he has that top line pace that sets him apart from yer average winger.

How long have we all desired a real speedster that can turn a break into a try.....he is the man for that IMHO.

I agree 50%. Firstly yes they would both be high on my target list as forwards are crucial. However, Offering 300k to Stringer??? I definetly would not have a bar of that. Hes 28ish, Very injury prone, his attitude is a tad suspect and quite frankly - hes not worth that money. Hes a great player but If I was to throw $300 000 at players on the market, it would be at someone of very high class.

If what everyone is saying is true , we have $450 000 around to spend some money. If thats the case I would be spending $350 000 on both of them together at the most ( EG - Stringer $200? , Webb $150? ). And that still leaves 100 grand or so to buy another player.

I've seen stringer as a good forward in an ordinary pack with ??? over
his attitude/passion.

Stringer will only sign for one year, and I dont see Webb leaving Queensland. Hes as good as being in a North Qld jersey.

Now where is he.... Injured, sure he did put in a few good games, but Miles is nothing special.

I'm not convinced on these two myself......I was pushing for Stringer earlier on but I think we need more than what he and Webb offer.....I know theres limited talent available....I just think we may do better than them somehow.
If thats all thats left then we gotta look elsewhere....Qld..NZ.

Miles is no whewre near as fast as Donald....he is in a different league speed wise.

And I really rate Stringer,at a half decent club he would be a star.And Id go for Webb as he has unlimited potential and beef.

If there are better on the market than these two Id be very surprised.

It wouldnt shock me if he just stayed at Souths for one more, despite saying he would leave.

if it is a smaller base with incentives to push it to 300k if he achieves,then fine,but not 300k straight up.

webb has huge consistency problems,but at 100k i would accept that,even though i would prefer to have gone all out for price and wiki before these 2 .

Well....for a crap team like us...I reckon we would have to pay him a bit over the oddas.I reckon he would have to be on 250 at Souths.....if we could jag him foir that it would be a bonus.......but I think a big prop with an offload and yard making to us would be worth a lot.

I would pay him 300,if he could get 150 metres,20 tackles and 3-4 offloads...which he does when he gets 60 mins game time or more.

2 big forwards and we are a decent team.....we have to pay overs....

I dont think Webb would get 200.......150 sounds about right to me.

But if we got em both we would be a much better side than now.To me thats woprth 350k a year,and we would still have change enough for a Donald.......

Webb,Stringer,Donald.......i like the sound of that.
