The Wallabies are starting to look more like a Pacific Island All Star team :D

It seems league raids rugby schoolboys and they grab our wingers, Isn't there a crazy number of former Australian Rugby School boys playing in the NRL ? Cronk, Cleary, Maroa ( going back to rugby), Murray, Crichton, Ponga .... I'm sure there's at least a dozen more.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona will be the next go, with a strong rugby background in NZ the NZRU made him an offer last time he was off contract. Oh well, at least league gets back a 38 yr old Sonny Bill Williams next season.

I do think its a concern that a cash strapped code can offer a player double than what we can :/ We can pay more at school boy level but they can pay more at professional level ??

It's pretty obvious which code gets the better return on investment.

I thought he left for union a couple of years ago? Did he come back or am I mistaking him for someone else?
Anyway, this is why I am enjoying Maika - but also not getting attached to him. He'll do the same and I cant blame him. Get the money while you can.

Myth: league takes Australian Rugby Schoolboys.

Truth: these kids play both codes but league is their primary code.

A few exceptions to this including Crichton.

yeh here in perth a lot of kids up to U16’s play both codes, especially the islander kids.

In the Penrith Comp there are a lot of Islander boys that play both codes. They see Yawnion as an easier game to rep, but they fail to understand that there is only one senior team that pays, the Waratahs.

It's pretty much a parent driven decision, as the Samoans and to a lesser extent the Tongans grew up with Yawnion as their Island/NZ sport. Being involved in the age group comp there are a lot of decisions being made by 16/17 year olds currently with Matts and Ball round the corner. These boys don't play club yawnion, they are given a rails run by yawnion selectors who struggle massively for numbers.

I love vunivalu.

Had $50 on him as first try scorer.

Scored in the 3rd minute.

Thanks for the $400, Volcano.

Won't be missed.

The ARU can spend money on outside backs but RL can't produce a decent tight five for them ever.
