Sullivan should sit out the first 20mins or so and have Bos or Gibbo starting though i reckon during that period

I too was a Sully knocker but he definately showed some class last night..

Kimmorley had an ordinary game by his standards,Bird played well also

I think its a matter of working out combinations which will come in time.

Overall I thought we did alright Tigers played well, they didnt concede a penalty till the 30th minute.....

Big fan of Galloway and he proved me right also.

I still think we're top eight material,it could be worse.....Parramatta were woeful

Sully was very enthusiastic and did gain yards for us, but he wasn't supplied with support either. Bird didn't pass the ball because there was noone to pass it to. He made plenty of half breaks and had the ball there ready to offload with noone around him. He was only doing what he could. Defensively he has improved and that was his worst attribute in 2003, so I am relatively happy with Bird and Sully.

Same McS.

Bird made some good metres and he was looking for the offload but had no support. I reckon that We could have had at least another 2 tries if he had a few runners with im. And he had a good dig in defence.

The game confirmed Bird is NOT a 5/8th. All the promising chances/plays broke down because he was the link to the backs and he failed to deliver time and time again. Sullivan for 5/8th perhaps, IMO. Even Dallalana or Aitken!

I disagree Tama. Bird is not there to distibute, Kimmorley and Peachey are. Don't blame Bird, blame the coach and the game plan for that. Like I said, he was nowhere near our worst, in fact he was better than most.

If a 5/8 is not there to distribute, what exactly is his role in attack?

He's a link man to the outside backs.

Everyone was bagging him at half time, I was getting messages and calls on my phone blaming Bird, even I stuck up for him, saying "at least he's passing". That didnt dissuade anyone from sticking the boot in. He then destroyed my optimism in the second half with a lacklustre display. Time and time again he wouldnt pass.

Sullivan gave the Sharks a bit of spark out of dummy half. His kicking took some pressure of Kimmorley. Last year he was kicking out on the full.

I thought Sullivan played well and provided the team with a bit of a lift when he came on.
I also thought Bird played ok, but I still think there were a couple of times he could of passed and didn't.

If the players had been able to hold the ball, we may have seen a better result? Too many passes went astray in the first half and unfortunately it seemed to be everytime we even looked close at getting near the tryline

against a forward pack that had their heyday in the 1950's
Millers doesn't like it when Kimmorley is made look second best.
After watching the game for the 3rd time, it is quite evident which of the quicks gave the tigers a scare.
After kimmorleys 5th kick which went too long, they knew that he was not going to bother them anytime soon.
But Sullivan had them rattled. A bit more support on one of his 5 breaks, might have lead to tries.
