I see they gave Warren Smith the pumpkin award this week on NRL Scoreboard for saying that Sully was off-side when he was the one who kicked it

Well the pumpkin award was practically the first thing that happened on the show. Laurie Daley said it was a marvellous piece of commentary from Smith. Then they replayed that particular try with the commentary, and then Daley & Freeman bagged him out about it and said how could he be offside when he was the one who kicked it. Smith then said he thought the ball came off another Sharks player's leg, then to Sully who was in front (I dunno how he came to that conclusion when the ball was being played back to Sully at dummy half #-o ) Then they said that because Smith was always bagging the video refs, they have a special guest to present the pumpkin award - then on comes Robert Finch and duly presents him with a big pumpkin which had his photo on it :lol:

As for the rest of the show, I didn't see too much more of it because I was dozing off

HA , I thought it was some new rule that the kicker had to run back ten metres behind his own attacking players. He had me convinced and I have watched the game 3 times nows ( once drunk , once heavily hung over and once sober).

However Lozza didn't let me down with his call on Mc Dougal getting tackled into the corner post. He said if his elbow didn't touch the post it was a try. Well I don't know what replay he was watching but the one everyone else could see showed Mc Dougal not only taking out the post but putting the ball down over the sideline.
Daley's is a poor imitation of Gould's commentary. Cameron Smith is foxtels equivalent of Mario Fenech.
