Anyone know why they can't play the 6.30 games at 2pm like they used to? Absolutely painful time to get to a game

I'm going to guess the TV stations make the decision.

This post was meant to be funnier.

It's only until daylight savings finishes in the next few weeks and the cooler autumn weather (supposedly) kicks in... Doesn't explain why they've got 3pm kick off's on Saturday's though - it can be potentially as hot at 3pm as it can be at 2pm at this time of year. Seems to be some inconsistency from the NRL there which is so unlike the NRL...

It's been scientifically proven that Sundays are statistically hotter than Saturdays, hence the difference in game times.

That's a lie, I made that up.

6.30 game on any Sunday that isn't a Monday long weekend is ridiculous.

Well
It's ridiculous if it's my teams home game.
Don't mind watching it on tv at home for games between other teams

6.30 in a Sunday is a bad time? There's a very narrow window of time that seems to please people.
Some I can understand Monday, Thursday, Friday 6.00pm even Friday at 8pm in Sydney is pretty crap.
Not sure I understand what's wrong with 6.30 on a Sunday though

Correct hard with a young family. Example Dragons have this slot next 3 games in a row, to get to Wollongong from Sydney is hard when you have to work next day and have a 2 year old that goes to bed at 7.30 - 8. I will def watch on TV however

I will make the Kogarah game only because its part of my Kogarah membership and not as far but still a PITA! I wonder if the club gets compo for drawing less of a crowd to say the earlier session.

The NRL's aim in the opening month is to limit pre-4pm kickoffs due to potential heat in March. I think there's only one or two games prior to this time - this Saturday 3pm in Newcastle for example.

Once we get beyond Round 5, when there's two Sunday games it's 2pm - the only excpetion is when there's a third Sunday game in Round 11 - Souths at home in Perth which is 4:30pm local time anyway.

big hit!

ideally, Sydney time
1x fri 8pm
1x sat 3pm
1x sat 530pm
2x sat 8pm
2x sat 130pm
1x sunday 4pm

FTA should still have at least 4 games - friday night, saturday night, 2x sunday

I cant see why we cant play all games as follows

Monday 6pm
Monday 8pm
Tuesday 6pm
Tuesday 8pm
Wednesday 6pm
Wednesday 8pm
Thursday 6pm
Thursday 8pm

I need the weekend off. After 20 years of not going games on a Sunday afternoon other plans have taken over

whatever the question, you know Perth is the answer :)
If you bothered reading all the posts you'd have seen that it actually is the case in Round 11, when the Sunday 6:30pm game is actually a Sunday 4:30pm game in Perth.

I reckon in our case, the club doesn't want compensation. They hope that crowds at Wollongong and Kogarah are crippled by the time slot in order to justify a further move to homebush.
