The Phoenix Suns have had a night out in Denver at the All Star Weekend.
The night started well for Phoenix with Quentin Richardson shooting his last nine shots to win the Three Point Shoot out. Philadelphia's Kyle Korver was second with 18 points and defending champion Voshon Lenard placed third with 16.
This was followed by the Suns victory in the Radioshack Shooting Stars competition with current All Star Shawn Marion teaming up with Suns legend Dan Majerle and The Phoenix Mercury Rookie of the year Diana Taurasi to take the title. The Phoenix trio wowed the crowd, finishing 16 seconds ahead of second-place Denver. The Detroit squad came in third while the defending champs, the Lakers, were fourth.
Leading MVP candidate and the man responsible for the Suns being where they are this season had an easy win in the Skills Challenge. The Phoenix point guard posted the top times in both the first and final rounds, claiming victory with a contest-best 25.4 seconds.
The Suns couldn't quite claim all 4 titles up for grabs when Amare Stoudemire ran second in the rising stars slam dunk contest. Atlanta rookie Josh Smith defeating Amare in the final.
A great night for the boys from Phoenix well done to all of you.
Now for the West to win the All Star game and Nash to grab MVP.
