It's getting closer to the halfway stage, which team looks the best bet to take out the SL crown for 2003?

Can't go past Bradford this year Gav. From what I've heard they're on fire!!

Do you know how young Shontayne Hape's going?

He was out for the season in the first 3 minutes of our 1st game last year, so didn't get a chance but he certainly had potential.

Ali, it is hard to see beyond the Bulls going on current form. Saints lost again at Hull tonight, which makes it all the more interesting - the likes of Wigan and St Helens are losing points in a manner not seen for many a year. However, I don't see them missing the play-offs and once the business end of the season is upon us anything can happen.

I'm not sure how Shontayne's doing at Odsal. The few games I did see early in the season, he seemed to be fitting in well. It's hard to tell when you rely on the radio and brief highlights on Sunday lunchtime. I thought he had a decent CC final.

The two sides i want to do well are Hull and Widnes. They're no the well-established big clubs but they are certainly going places fast.

Hape's settled in well enough. A regular in a top 2 side. 3 tries in ten SL matches. In terms of publicity he tends to get overshadowed by the likes of Paul who's at full back these days, and their massive wingers Vaikona and Vainakolo.

He's on course for both GF and Cup winner's medals.

From what I have seen on Fox Bradford do look the strongest but Leeds appear to be the big improvers this year. Are they serious contenders or just going through a purple patch?

Leeds are serious contenders this season. We have a nice blend of very talented youngsters, the best in the English game, with some great and very experienced players like Dave Furner, Matt Adamson, Gary Connolly and Barrie Mac.
I would class us as 2nd favourites at the moment behind the Bulls.

Cheers for that terracesider.

Shontayne had an injury that kept him out of our side for the whole of the 2002 NRL season. And he got injured in the 3rd min of the very first game of the season.
Unfortunately for him, the Warriors found some very good replacements..
Robbie Paul must be getting on a bit now.

Gotta love the Bulls, they look after the Kiwis, who look after them :)
