Having watched the highlights again, Jamie Lyon is showing sides of his game that never really came out at Parramatta, the kicking game (bombs, punts etc) and the long passes in the stand-off role. He would never have got the chance to do that at Parra, and had suffered several seasons with relatively few chances to show or develop his attacking wares.

When he left after Round 1 2004 and went bush to Wee Waa Panthers, he moved from centre to stand off. Now some of those skills are showing in his game back at the higher level. With the team spirit at Saints (evident from that comeback), Lyon could just keep improving all season...

Looking forward to seeing even better football from all the teams once the grounds get harder and faster.

Was thier an unique meteorological phenomenon just around Salford this weekend?

they're going to need alot more than a spiffy new stadium to increase crowds...

Apart from that,it was a decent round crowds-wise,considering some of the 'lower' teams were playing at home.
