Well injuries crippled me though I was able to achieve my goal of a min round of 800 - just. I scored 802 though lost starters Jamie Lyon and Manu Vatuvei which hurt me a lot. On top of that, I had some top tier talent underachieve (e.g. Scott Prince) and didn't gamble on some young talent that I had picked up cheap who come on really, really strong.

So, who you looking at trade wise?

I've punted Dean Young despite the fact he hasn't played a game in 2011. Why?

1. Aiden Tolman I cannot turn down any longer. He was superb in round one and will only get better. Whilst I believe he is an Origin type prop, I can't see NSW gambling all too much in the forwards in 2011 so I believe he will be around a bit in 2011 for the Doggies.

2. Dean Young isn't a consistent every game player and whilst I am a massive fan, I believe he is on the verge of NSW representation in 2011. He is rumoured to be on the radar of Ricky Stuart and his versatility is a bonus not to mention his proven he can handle the next step up given his efforts for Australia in 2010.

Manu Vatuvei I've let go simply because he is out for 8 weeks. I've brought in Jarrod Croker as he is a try scorer who kicks goals. Not to mention he is cheaper and gives me some cap room which I will cash in when I look at round 2 trades.

I am going to keep an eye on Allgood from Parra as well. Looked strong for the Eels, cheap too.

I still have Jamie Lyon on the books though I might look at another big game alternative who will be around for each round. Lyon is prone to injury and unfortunately a possible NSW option (a whole new thread).

I got swapped Costigan for Allgood and J.Smith for Harrison.

Got a few guys on the bench who can play instead of Costigan, so Allgood will just fill up the numbers at this point.

right now I'm deciding what to do with Sam Burgess.

I could substitute him for Allgood (God damn it, why didn't I put him in my reserves instead of Costigan?!) and save myself a trade for later on. But having that much cap space being wasted doesn't seem good to me when I could bring in another high scoring second rower. Think I might trade out both he and Costigan, buy somebody expensive and take a punt on a cheapy.

I was hypocritical when it came to Burgess.

I decided I didn't want to risk him as he was coming back from surgery and was questionable to last a season. I then go select a guy like Jamie Lyon and Manu Vatuvei :lol: :?

I'd part ways with Burgess and save cap room. Plenty of options to cover him and free up some room IMO.

Thinking of trading out Farah for Tolman and Thurston for Henry. Would free up a lot of cash to buy parker etc.. Still think I am nuts but I feel Farah is not playing well at the moment and I can bring him in later. Thurston I have decided is not a great fantasy player, sure he will have some great weeks but is too inconsistent for mine. Any thoughts on these proposed trades?

Farah's been very weak so far, I'll give him one more week and if he doesn't pick up, I'll punt him from my team.

Tolman's a 60-70 point regular and Robbie is going like a busted SCT. Parker is the first bloke I pick every year. Gallen is next. (126 this week? freak)

You're right about Thurston, he'll either gold nuggets or sh*t nuggets, I never bother with him or Bowen for that matter for the same reason. I have Cherry-Evans at half, he's been reasonable and cost next to nothing.

The aim now should be to get 25 blokes who play regularly, with Origin and the byes coming up, the season can go down the gurgler real quick.

The only Origin players I have are Parker, Gallen and Watmough.

I have to replace Gordon and you know, I may have to follow the trend and bring in Will Hopoate.

Reason?

Because they are now assigning him free points!! a try/linebreak assist belonging to matai is attributed to Hopa this week. And they havent fixed it. And gee, if they are going to get free points like that, you may aswell have them in your team!

This is in Fox as well as SC, I am now certain they all get their stats from the same place. Lets hope they sort it out but i think its slipped thru the system.
