Hey guys, need some advice, and cbf going to the other forum. So a few weeks ago my Mum paid these guys to cut down and remove a tree in our yard. They cut it down and said they'd be back to pick it up at a later date. They never did, and after several emails, phone exchanges etc, they still did not come to finish the job (and even tried to weasel out of it). She had to end up paying $200 for a different guy to do it. I'm yet to talk to Mum about it since it has been removed, but I get the impression she is too nice for her own good and too much of a doormat to do anything about it. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of shit? Anything that I can do personally since I am not the actual customer? Shit makes me so mad.

She has an email that states the job was to do a "full removal" and a written invoice given to her on the day detailing the job, though she's being quite lame and not even looking for the invoice. I'm currently working on convincing her to do something about it. I'm not sure what makes me more mad, these dickheads not doing the job they were paid for or my mother being weak about it :lol:

Just threatening dept of fair trading should do the trick. I had to go once & it was a pain in the arse. Found out once I was there I was only called as a third party to verify a few things about a car we had repaired. I would hate to have to go as the defendant.
