Granted I haven't watched any NSW cup this year, but how does a team make it to the GF with Luke Capewell at halfback?

Believe it or not, but that was his second appearance in a GF in as many years.

In fact, he was the Qld Cup player of the season last year.

I'm going for Manly. Mostly because of the underdog tag. Hopefully Jamie Lyon wins the CCM so I can peruse the Parra forum later tonight.

 That would be terrific. (no offence whall)

Every troll should be hoping Pearce wins the CC and a spot in the Aus squad

It would be a monumental paradox of universe-warping proportions if Pearce got the CCM and played well for Aus. The interstate forum would implode with people trying to work out why the colour of a jersey makes such an enormous difference.

In saying that, I still think Pearce is a surfer riding the wave of a tremendous team around him.

I wouldn't if I was you either. Gould has done a very good job at Penrith, I'm nowhere near Sheens' biggest fan but I hope he can do a similar job at Parra.

Has he signed with Parra? As coach or coaching director?

I've put up with Lyon winning shit before, I'm used to it now unfortunately.

Looks like Sheens as General Manager (not coaching director, our CEO has come out and said we'll be appointing a general manager and not a coaching director, not real sure what the difference is) and Brad Arthur as coach atm.

James Roberts looks faster than Amos; with his build, too, he is going to be a copy of Inglis I think. What a prospect to have coming through the grades.

G. Jennings looks like he is on track to follow his brothers footsteps too.

If Arthur can keep Sheenius at bay, that might work a treat. It is certainly a step in the right direction.

I don't think Sheens is as cluey as Gould, IMHO; I think Gould has a more broad set of skills that allows him to manage the business side as well as ensure the right footballing elements are taken care of. But he is definitely going to be good for your junior development and removing the heat from Arthur on things like recruitment.

I'd have preferred Brian Smith but I'm a fan of the structure itself. It seems to be working at Penrith, it's commonplace amongst continental European soccer and it's recently been introduced in England to a fair bit of success at both West Brom and Swansea.

The role suits Smith perfectly, TBH, but he's symbolic of the past so I can see why they went with Sheens.

TBH, Sheens should be given leave to slap the entire club around a bit. Parra would benefit from some hard nosed reality from a top down level. Old Timmy would be the right type of bloke to do that.
