I've never defended anyone bashing a woman. I choose to believe the only people who were in the room at the time. Greg and Sally Inglis. They both say he didn't bash her. The fact that there has never been an incident before or since is reason enough to believe them and not the media.

The fact that there has never been so much as a whisper of an allegation before or since increases the likelihood that they're telling the truth. That GI's intention was never to physically hurt her.

If she was to be seen with a bruise again and the same excuse came up then you'd have reasonable reason to doubt their story but under the present circumstances nobody can accuse them of lying. It was an isolated incident that did not involve any bashing and that it was blown up by the media.

Last year Friday nights were comparable and often the NRL won. This year they've been significantly behind. Not good. Smith and Grant need to step up or their positions should be considered untenable.
