I've played footy since I was 13. I was the world's greatest prop back in my early teen "chubby years". Last few years since I lost the puppy fat I'm the world's greatest second rower/centre. A combination of Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis in the one body.

And I stand by my opinion that part of the definition of best player on the field should be "contributed to a win".

Its about routine and focus. Those who get to the top maintain this no matter what the score

This. And at any level of sport where you need to do some form of repetitive action (tennis serve, shot at goal etc) you will develop a routine that you are comfortable with and can do naturally. Deviate from that routine and you are generally not concentrating properly or simply don't care.

I stopped playing tennis for 5 or so years but when I started again I slipped straight back into how I served before, just with shit results. To do anything else just feels weird

Sounds pretty unintelligent. SOunded like ElephantJuice and gambling problems were pretty big issues with him as well.
