one of my flate mates loves sport and watching cartoons and is an epl fan. Think we are going to get along

When I move my dream flatmate set up is 1 bloke like that, 1 hot swedish chick, 1 hot brazilian chick. Or even more ideally shaft the bloke and have the swedish and brazilian chick be into sport. But that's just greedy.

I realise you have an almost rabid hatred of Sydney....but seriously? geniused position of the CBD? It's a harbour city. Do you suggest the CBD should have evolved in Blacktown?

If you demolished the whole city and built the place from scratch you put the CBD at the apex of the Harbour somewhere near Parra. Far more practical. And you can still build a shitload of homes down either side of the harbour.

You'd double the size of the innercity, you'd double the amount of people living within 30 minutes of the CBD, you could build a far more practical arterial road network.

I don't think he's implying it should be move. He's implying that it is considered inconveniently located by roughly 75% of the city's population. It's not like he is alone in this opinion. There have been pushes for years now to relocate the CBD or set up a second one in an area that is a little more centrally located.

Let's be honest, Sydney's CBD is hardly 'central'. If you drew a circle around it as the centre, a big chunk of it would be in the f**king ocean.

EDIT: And now he's said so above far more eloquently than I have.

As true as that may be, or otherwise....it's hardly as though some city planners sat down and plonked the fking thing there to piss people off. It's a harbour city. It grew around the harbour. It's easy for a city like Melbourne or Adelaide, which were built in the middle of nowhere from very little. Sydney was not.

Now I got to go do 4 online quizzes (15 questions each) that is worth 20% of my unit. Has to be done by 5pm tomorrow. I haven't really studied but at least I get 2 attempts at each quiz.

It could still be remedied somewhat with the establishment of a second CBD area elsewhere in the city. I know Parra was mooted as a location for this at one point, but stopped caring about Sydney shortly thereafter.

If it's not part of your Uni website, but instead from an education or texbook source - google the answers, 95% of the time, you'll find them.

Failing that, google the keywords. Bound to find them. Flash cards and such are good examples of sites.

Probably, although it's hardly necessary. That's not the point, however. The point is that I reckon criticising a city for the way it grew is nonsensical and just hate for the sake of it.

The man knows. When I was doing online courses with internet quizzes or exams, I'd just Google that shit. More often than not the answers would show up.

Barely thought during the grammar quiz portion of my TEFL certification.

I don't know that he was lumping hate on Sydney. He was pointing out why he doesn't want to live there (the cost to be close to the CBD) and the reasoning behind why the CBD has such inflated prices.

Shouldn't you be pleased he's giving basis for his 'blind hatred'?

I don't like his Sydney bashing, especially since he's got a hard on for a rainy shit-hole in its place; but in this case he's at least explaining and giving a reasonable cause for his hatred.

Yeah ok, I won't politely disagree with BM in future
future. I never said blind hatred, either. Y'know, given we're apparently talking about making connections that aren't there and all
But it's cool. Wake me up when it's not Rabidly Protect a Poor Idiot Day

Sorry, you said "I realise you have an almost rabid hatred of Sydney....but seriously?"

Rabid hatred. My bad.

And as far as I'm aware, both of us (D10 and I) are just politely disagreeing with you.

I wouldn't call it blind hatred. I think Melbourne is a better place than Sydney for a number of reasons. But I think Sydney is heaven on earth compared to Queensland and NZ. Now those places, I have blind hatred for them.

Finished quiz 1. Got 14/15 the first time. 15/15 the 2nd time.
Finished quiz 2. Got 12/15.

And that's all I can be bothered to do tonight. I'll do 3 and 4 tomorrow sometime before 5pm and then maybe give 2/3/4 another go if I have time.

Now I'm gunna watch hot tall blondes play tennis.
