That is really low. Like, crazy cheap.

In 2001 my ex-missus and I were renting a 1 bedder in Moore Park for $210 a week

2012. I just checked back and it was $450 a week between the three of us, so we were paying $150 a week each. Roughly double what I was paying in Armidale for a two bedroom hovel back in 2003/04.

Still, that's on par with what I was paying in Merewether back in 2006 for a much shittier three bedroom place in a somewhat nicer part of the world.

The trams are a positive but the backbone of both cities public transport is the trains. The train stations and train lines cover a lot more of Melbourne than Sydney.
