RWT is a good wine, they tend to drink well reasonably early too.

This is true. A lot of us at work cannot work out how they managed to screw things up so much with the portfolio of product they have in the shed. Its like losing in an F1 car at Bathurst.

Because they charge $75 (at FC or Dans) for f**king 389! They priced themselves out of the market, it's that simple. Their baseline wines are perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be the epitome of ordinary juice, their premium stuff is much too expensive and even the mid range isn't competing in terms of price. Wynns are great wines...but for $25 or less I can name a dozen cabernets that compete in terms of quality with the $35 Wynns.

They also refused to discount a simply awful 2011 vintage Bin range, which has no doubt turned buyers off.

The problem is its hard to tell the quality, given their wines need 10+ years before they begin to look good. If you're going to invest, you need to be damn sure its worthwhile.

I'm looking at going in with a few people for some RWT. @ staff rates, its not terrible.

The St Henri is under ripe. Green is green, ten years or no. That said I didn't hate it, it tastes like a northern Rhone in many ways. The RWT (which I have yet to try), is apparently a ripper though

On another note - are either of you familiar with Nigel Dolan's 'x' series?

I know of Nigel but I;m not familiar with his wines. He has an excellent reputation though
