So... I see the interesting characters are never in short supply on the train. I decided to train it in this morning as I'm working in the city office today.

I walked in, sat down, and some guy a good 3-4 rows in front of me was blasting heavy metal/grunge music on his earphones... and I'm certain it was on the highest volume setting as I was able to hear it all clearly. This continued for my entire duration of the trip.

I get off in the city and he's still sitting there, eyes wide open, enjoying the music being projected into his ear.

Why are people stupid, yet not stupid?

This guy isn't stupid because he knows that listening to music like that on full blast will give him ear problems later down the track, but he's stupid because he does it anyway.
