Sorry to discuss rugby league, but it's easier here than the main board/any sub boards

Thoughts on the changes to Origin/International eligibility? Allowing those who are elligible (lived in state before 13, played first senior footy in state) under Origin criteria but are born/elligible for Islander nations alo to basically play for both. EG Ashton Sims, were he good enough, could play for Fiji and NSW or Mlford could play for Samoa and Qld.

I like it as long as once they start at an Islander nation that is who their international side is. There's always been that loophole in origin eligibility (IMO), using it to the advantage of the international game sounds good to me. As long as you don't then see, say, McGuire playing for Australia after a strong Origin series.

There's great potential in the International game, probabl best placed it has been in a long time to properly grow.

I think you hit the nail on the head in your last line

Its an international game that has very little or nothing to do with what state the players are originally from as if they are from overseas, it has nothing to do with any state

I've wanted this for years. International should be the pinnacle and there's no reason a player can't represent his state and his country even if they may be different.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's farcical that nations like Fiji are deprived of Tariq Sims and Aku Uate because they are rightfully tempted to play in the lucrative Origin series.

If your first senior football saw you play in NSW or QLD but you're eligible by birth or heritage for another nation, I don't think it should preclude you from being included.

I can't see the ARL being pro this move though, given it would stop them from being able to use Origin to the detriment of any who could potentially prevent the post-season Kangaroos circle jerk and back slapping party.
