I think the issue (with Marshall, not the Dragons) is more that Benji has never been a controller. He’s about individual brilliance, he can't control a side and he can't play to structure or orchestrate one. Mary is clearly imposing a structure...

The Dragons suck because they have zero ability to create points, he says stating the obvious-ly. But I think that stems from a frankly rubbish pack and an awful hooker. The pack without Merrin are all robots. Run ball, take tackle, play ball. Frizell is a good hole runner, but there's very little opportunity to create holes when the service from dummy half is awful.

You raise good points. In all that, though, there's serious coaching deficiencies:

* Our hooker is rubbish, but has not grown or gotten better under Mary. We went for McInnes, failed, and have not done anything since.
* We do have battering rams, but that isn't necessarily the issue. Thompson and Frizzell both run lines and can offload, but we don't have support players. Plus, if you have battering rams, why are you getting the backs to do the hard yards in our own half? And then why are you getting the forwards to 'attack' in the opposition danger zone?! There's no sense in what he's doing.
* We have no organiser (as Baz has pointed out); WTF?
* We're playing both wingers on their wrong side; WTF?

Benji is brilliant as you say. The question becomes, why do we need him when Widdop is the future 5/8 for the club? Two is not necessary. Either promote Hutchinson or get McCrone to work for us. Not get an individualist to play an organising role.
