It's an absolutely perfect day for cricket....so of course I couldn't get out of work. Productivity will be less than zero.

Autumn is such a pleb season. It just sits there doing nothing, being boring. Autumn is only cool if you are a diciduous tree.

See, that's one reason I don't mind being from the New England. Autumn here is stunning, and the weather isn't as bitterly cold and perennially wet as winters tend to be.

On the Aussie coast, I can agree that autumn is a bit of a non-event.

The last few years the good summer weather ie without humidity has been lasting well into April and the water has been swimmable as late as May/June. So Autumn has been ok.

I like hot weather without humidity. Humidity sucks. 25 degrees and not humid at all is the ideal I think

Humidity>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dry heat. Anyone who has ever lived through a Canberra summer knows this is fact

Dry heat > humidity any day of the week. Dry heat is so easy to deal with.

Humidity is a merkin that cannot be escaped.

Rubbish. You mean average humidity>>>>tropical humidity. And yeah, sure. I'm not for oppressive humidity.

Proper dry heat is just awful. Instant dehydration, double or triple the UV energy from the sun cos there's zero atmospheric protection, hot parching wind. Summer in Canberra basically.

Related note, I love the kind of people who say "dry heat is so much better" and then spend entire dry El Nino summers bitching about how awful it is. It's already started this year.

Say what you like about humidity but I spent two years in Malaysia and never cracked the 40 degree mark because the moisture keeps it from baking

Grafton 42 degree heat, 50% humidity in Christmas vs Tonga 43 degree heat, 100% humidity; the latter was far more exhausting and intense IMHO than the former.

The bit about dry heat that gets me is the furnace feeling. It feels like a bushfire, and it feels like you're actually being cooked. It is a very uncomfortable feeling; but its also easier to address with a pool. Humidity you can't escape.
