my dad is driving me crazy. I want to buy a car and my only requisites are that it won't give me any problems, won't require work and isn't too small or too big. And I'm happy to pay up to $8,000, possibly more if the investment seems worthwhile. My dad thinks I should only pay $1000 (and it's all my money anyway, I wouldn't ask him to chip in a cent). I think he doesn't understand that I want a car that works

Functional cars are overrated tbh. Nothing like the thrill of being 40 minutes late to class because your piece of shit rust bucket blew some f**king obscure hose or belt or some shit that costs $500 which I don't have to fix.

I want something that does not need any fixing. Not interested in thrills, will mostly just use the car to go to cricket games in whoopwhoop. Losing function in the middle of nowhere is not the most appealing prospect
