Metal Gear Solid is becoming increasingly more enjoyable. I note a distinct correlation with me sucking less

Are floating floorboards easy to install?

Fml.

Depends on the room and the state of the base floor.

Square room and flat level ground to lay the boards on = easy
Odd shaped room and flat level ground to lay the boards on = hard
Odd shaped room and ground is not flat = very difficult

I installed them recently at my place in my lounge and dining room. I'm in a second storey unit and the floor is dead flat so that helped. My lounge room is square so that was quite simple. The dining area is a funny almost triangular shape and that was a pain in the arse.

You can get an instructional booklet at Bunnings that is a great help and there are also some instructional clips to be found on youtube which give you an idea.

I knocked the lounge over in a day and the dining area took me another two.

Awesome!

We have a flat floor. 2 square rooms + 2 hallways. Hoping it wont take too long. Sick of pulling splinters out of mine and the kitty's feet.

Well as long as one of you are reasonably handy with a circular saw, you should be right. The hardest part of mine was all the angle cutting I had to do because my dining area wasn't square.
