Good work Brendo the Jet talking about yourself when there were other issues this week such as the Jets offer to Wendell to get him fit for the Dragons while acting as a feeder club for the Roosters.
The club President Terry Rowny (I thought your President was Barry Vining given he signs emails to members) called your club the Betty Ford Clininc of football. This is far from a complimentary name and then saying the club has the skills to help players who have been out of the game and naming Tevita Folau and Albert Hopoate who both served Mormon missionary's (hardly the type of young men who need the Betty Ford clinic anyway) as being examples. Both these players have spent or are spending time in the Jim Beam Cup to get up to speed so perhaps 3 weeks at Shell Harbour would be better.

As a Roosters football club member and Newtown Jets football club member I am disappointed on other levels.
The club that provided that has provided playing roster, support staff, resources and pays to attend Jets functions is being treated in a mannerthat this same club looks to help an opposition club. It is a bit whore like.
There may be other reasons such as Newtown looking to reposition itself again in the near future with the Dragons as a feeder club. Who knows but it is a concern.
Some may say any publicity is good publicity but the self denigration and whoring around from club to club is not a good look.
I await your abuse but it is not an attack but real issues.

Either you don't know Brendo, or you're being petulant for the sake of it. Either way, it's a cheap shot, and a pointless one.

"I await your abuse but it is not an attack but real issues."

No abuse from me, but it was a stupid attack. Given the "pride" you express as being a member of both clubs, perhaps you couild show some maturity and stick to the "real issues" and save the shots for the members bar.

OD.

It's simply an opportunity for the Club to get publicity and make some money. Nothing more, nothing less.

There would have been some media attention/stories.

Imagine the value of having pictures of Henson on game day on TV. Half the punters out there don't know we exist, let alone know we play at Henson every Saturday!

Of course this would have been cleared by the Roosters Hierarchy first anyway!

I just don't like that term "Betty Ford Clinic of rugby league" being used for the club, making us sound desparate for any old p*ss head of a player to get a run with us...

Agree it's good to have a bit of publicity around it all and hopefulyl there will be a few extra bums on seats this Saturday beacuse of it all.

I agree that calling us the Betty Ford Clinic of Rugby League Clubs was not a good thing to say.

Knowing Terry it was probably just a line that come to his mind at the time.

Re the whole Betty Ford thing..it doesn't come off brilliantly but I guess you could look at it from the point of view that we revive players careers and turn them around.
