The interesting thing is that while everyone says the Donkeys get an armchair ride from the NRL (and to some degree I think this is right) they haven’t won a comp since 2006.

It's not so much about the Donks winning the comp but keeping them in the mix each year drives the NRL revenue. If the Donks missed the 8 three years in a row the NRL would be stuffed

Exactly right, then if Storm miss finals 3 years in road the Melbourne experiment could be stuffed
