Are we talking about moving the mandatory Grand Final that was introduced in 1954, that was originally played on Saturday afternoon, then moved to Sunday afternoon, then moved to Sunday night after 60 minutes, then moved forward on a Sunday night after National Nine News, that has been played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney Football Stadium and Telstra Stadium? How could they do this? What about the all history?

yeah but the way you moan about what NSW has lost...

We still have clubs in every major part of sydney, soo and test matches each year, the lions share of finals and the best TV coverage...

stop crying about NSW and mvoe forward. The quicker people let go of NSW the quicker teams like the bears will have somewhere to go!

LoL...Yeah, the 400,000 people in the Bears catchment don't at all constitute the wealthiest part of Sydney

Some people have mentioned the Supabowl. That is an irrelevant argument since their competitition consists of one team cities and most of those cities are Sydney's size or bigger.

Brisbane wouldn't get a Supabowl in America, the real small markets like Green Bay don't host them.

I fail to see what can be gained by playing the biggest game the code has to a venue almost half the size, because fans of ONE CLUB can go?

That is just the funniest post I've read in quite some time.

Read this link - it's Trevor Gillmeister's spray to the NRL about accepting Telstra Stadium's bid for the grand final when the other states were not aware it was up for grabs.

It's not about the "fans of ONE CLUB" being able to attend. It's about the millions of NRL fans in south east Queensland having the opportunity to attend an NRL Grand Final. It's about what's best for the betterment of the game in general, not these stupid whose club does it favour more arguments.

Bet the second biggest market in the competition gets one though.

Does anyone know if Melbourne pays the AFL for their grand final?

Yes, there is an agreement with the State Government and the MCG to hold the GF there for a few more years. I think this has something to do with State money put into the renovation of the MCG.

This is all a storm in a teacup. The State Labor Government has shovelled a bit of money the NRL's way ahead of the State election, under the guise of retaining the NRL Grand Final in Sydney. It is probably tied up with the resolution of the poker machine tax legislation.

It has absolutely nothing to do with who makes it to the grand final.

It's the spectacle. It's why people book a seat at the grand final months in advance.

What a silly statement. Sydney people couldn't even sell out Origin 1.

LoL...And the Brisbane Broncos (1.7m) with a monopoly of SEQLD (3m) have sold out Lang Park How many times since it was re-opened?

Since QLD suck, people in Sydney aren't interested in watching dud SoO matches where BRETT FINCH can vanquish QLD. There's 9 club sides to watch...
