SYDNEY ROOSTERS (1st) vs CANBERRA RAIDERS (8th)
Sun Sep 12, AUSSIE STADIUM (Sydney Football Stadium), 3:45pm

ROOSTERS: 1. Anthony Minichiello, 2. Shannon Hegarty, 3. Ryan Cross, 4. Justin Hodges, 5. Chris Walker, 6. Brad Fittler (c), 7. Brett Finch, 8. Jason Cayless, 9. Craig Wing, 10. Adrian Morley, 11. Michael Crocker, 12. Craig Fitzgibbon, 13. Luke Ricketson. Subs: 14. Chad Robinson, 15. Stuart Webb, 16. Chris Flannery, 17. Anthony Tupou, 18. Ned Catic (one to be omitted).

RAIDERS: 1. Clinton Schifcofske, 2. Marshall Chalk, 3. Adam Mogg, 4. Joel Monaghan, 5. Nathan Smith, 6. Jason Croker, 7. Brad Drew, 8. Ryan O'Hara, 9. Simon Woolford (c), 10. Troy Thompson, 11. Terry Martin, 12. Ian Hindmarsh, 13. Tyran Smith. Subs: 14. Michael Hodgson, 15. Josh Miller, 16. Ben Cross, 17. Mark McLinden, 18. Phil Graham, (one to be omitted).
Should Woolford be suspended, Drew will move to hooker, McLinden comes into halfback and Croker will be captain.

Predictions:

Matthew O'Neill: Roosters by 46. Canberra have been hit by injuries and probable suspensions with Wiki, Davico and Woolford set to miss the match whereas the Roosters will be at their star-studded best. The Roosters are almost certainties to be one side in the Grand Final, it's just a matter of who their opponents will be. Sunday will be nothing but a light training run for the Roosters.

Aaron Warbrick: Roosters by 24. Too good for a weak Raiders outfit that was very lucky to make the top eight with the Wests Tigers blowing their chance. The Raiders have too many injuries and possibly will be without their captain Woolford due to suspension.

Geez... Looks like we've been completely written off? WHAT'S YOUR PREDICTION???

Roosters by 16. As much as i'd love to see the Raiders win i'm going to be realistic about it. The Raiders just have too many key players absent to make it a tight contest for the full 80mins. I think the raiders will turn up and give it their all but, i just can't see them winning barring a spectacular peformance from the green machine.

Roosters will win by 10-20, but we'll show up and definitely compete hard. I plan on going to the game and I have a feeling I'll be leaving with my head held high despite the loss.

The saddest thing is a Top 8 means we go into our game with no hope... but as the NRL will tell you - we loved the last 6 weeks as our team clung to hope of a Finals birth and that's so good for the game... please! Our season was over a long time ago in terms of hope, and as much as I hated 2001 when we missed the finals I think we actually played some good (if frustrating result wise) footy that season, this year has been very ordinary even if 2003 probably made everyone expect too much out of us.

Roosters 30 bt Canberra 16 - my tip.

Roosters 32 Raiders 24... and we fight hard.

The key is to be 'on' from the start... we can't give a 22-0 lead like we did a few weeks ago. Its finals now and if that is the case the foot will be on the jugular. If Germ is out then, in possibly his last game for us, Drew is the key man on the field.

He must be switched on and provide good direction from hooker and hold the ruck defence up. Otherwise we are gone.

Head: Raiders by 1.

Heart: Raiders by 7.

:D

Nah, I think if Woolford is suspended, we're gone. We can cover his loss in attack, even though he has one of the best and most underrated kicking games in the competition IMO, but it's his defence that we'll really miss. He does so much work in the middle of the ruck and I don't see Drew doing that type of front-on damage that Germ does, even though Drewy's been on fire lately.

hahaha

head: roosters by 20+... i think they are gonna smash us. And i can't see us being able to stop them. If we can just get a decent start we will have a chance, but i can just see the roosters ripping us up in the first 20 minutes AGAIN!

heart: Raiders by 4... If we can match them in the opening minutes, when everyone will be fired up (which is where we will miss muss) then we are in with a shot. All we will need then is a little bit of luck, or something special... plus a whole lot of heart.

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the acid test: if you had to put all your whole bank balance on one team, which would it be? Me personally, I wouldn't dream of putting it on the Raiders. I'd put it on Roosters winning by a margin of 13+. If i had to pick an exact margin, I'd say Roosters by 16.
I do, however, think that we have the potential to win this game, so I'm gonna be heaps psyched for it come Sunday.

We are on like $5 to win. If Woolford's suspended it will probably go higher.

I'm gonna slap a cool $20 on that, for a chance at a $100 pay out :)
