Sydney Ticket Sales

Well forgetting the Nathan Fien incident for just a little while, we have a thrilling test match coming up this Saturday at Aussie Stadium and from purchasing my tickets tonight, a reasonable crowd is on track to be at the international.

My EzyTicket's which I just purchased tonight have a PAX of 18,965 so already we have sold more seats than Christchurch and not far off the revised Auckland figure and things are looking good for a crowd of 30K+.

Whilst the farcial situation on the sidelines with eligability is annoying, we still need to get bums on seats at the games to ensure international RL isn't thrown into the 'too hard' basket. This series has still been great on the field, and really compared to some things international RL has gone through, it hasn;t done too badly off the field.

So get out there and buy some tickets guys! And Drag your mates there!

Will be buying roughly 12 tickets for the GB game and final at lunch time tomorrow.

What time tonight did you buy Yak? We might have an accurate idea of how fast they are selling between the 2 of us.

I think GB's performance last weekend hasn't helped.

I don't know where people get this stuff from?

We were expected to lose by 40 by all the fat Aussie pundits like that knob Gould. We lost by 4 and people call us pathetic and amateurish?

Were it not for a completely ridiculous decision by the Antipodean video referee GB would have been in the lead on the hour mark.

Whenever we beat NZ in England, the same pundits and people on here write it off saying we couldn't be competitive in Aus/NZ. But 4 points with no other chances for NZ bar those they scored from is hardly cricket scoring is it?

Far out mate, stop jumping on the negativity thing. You don't have to take it all to heart. As a rugby league fan, I always like to see top notch rugby league, but what I saw dished up last weekend was tripe. That is my opinion and for that reason I am pretty cold on the idea of seeing the game in Sydney. If that makes me a bad person, so be it. People vote with their feet. I would love to see a 40k packed house and an unforgettable game of rugby league, but we know neither is likely to happen.

Not much action in the last 12 hours then. I just bought mine at midday for the GB game (12) and final (11) and the pax's were respectively.

19159 and 11844

I guess I beat the lunch time rush, but only 200 in 13 1/2 hours is hardly a stampede. I think we can factor in around 3,000 members, so I think 30,000 is about as good as we can hope for. I think it will be about 28,000, which is par for the course for Sydney tests.

Let's hope we can have about 25,000 pre-sold + A walk up crowd (Weather pending) of around 5,000 + 3 thousand members... Hopefully we can crack the 30,000 mark!!!! Get to the game people, and if you buys tickets keep updating the pax numbers please.

I'd like to see 35,000 plus there. Loads of publicity for the game and it is Sydney's first shot at the Tri Nations. If GB had been more competitive this would have been assured but their performance in CHCH was not the best advertisement.

I was at Harvey Norman Alexandria today for the Kangaroos Autograph Session. There were about 3-400 people there and a lot of them had new Kangaroos merchandise. Not a bad crowd for such an inaccessible Harvey Norman and a lot of merchandise considering there has not been a Sydney game yet and no Sydney store is carrying the full range of Kangaroos merchandise that you see on www.nrlshop.com

The Roos players seemed very relaxed and uber confident. The impression I got was that the Poms are HUGE outsiders and it is hard to disagree.

Is anyone carrying the full range of merchandise yet? Have looked everywhere for the stuff.

Evrery place I have been to has a bit of stock. Usually the jersey, the green cap and some polyester shirts. The better places have the above minimum with shorts and scarves.

The place with the widest range was the caravan on the Bourke St footbridge connecting Southern Cross Railway Station with Telstra Dome. If that theme continues, I will be at the SFS super early on Saturday to check out the full range. I want to buy a tracksuit and the striped beanie as well as a T-shirt or a polo shirt. May even get the hand clappers.

Well Yakstorm bought his ticket at 10:30pm at night.... no-one is going to buy tickets before 9-10am the next day... so you can't really say 200 tickets got sold in THIRTEEN HOURS.

Indigenous Series to be Launched
02.11.06 10:20
Kangaroos players Greg Inglis, Johnathon Thurston and South Sydney’s Yileen Gordon will join NSW Minister for Youth and Community Services, Ms Reba Meagher, today at Toyota Park to launch the ARL’s Under-16 Indigenous Series.

Co-funded by the NSW, Queensland and Federal Governments and National Aboriginal Sports Corporation Australia (NASCA), the series is an initiative to highlight the growing strength of the ARL’s Indigenous Development Program.

The three matches between the NSW Koori Under-16s and the Queensland Murri Under-16s will take place prior to each of the remaining Tri Nations fixtures in Sydney and Brisbane.

NSW Koori’s captain Matthew Mundine, vice-captain Albert Kelly and ARL Indigenous Program Manager Ricky Walford will also be in attendance.

I think we need to start buying tickets for the east side. The north end is very heavily populated, with only tickets in the corners remaining. But for the east side, I was able to get 10 tickets on about the 35m line just then on ticketek. It's not going to look too good on TV if people don't start buying over there.

I will decide on Saturday if I go or not. It is likely that I will go, but that is not 100% certain as I really did want to watch Hodges play, and I will admit that. But that said I still want to go. At the moment if I am feeling good on Saturday I will go.
