MCC's world cricket committee says it would like to see Twenty20 cricket included at the 2024 Olympic Games to boost take-up of the game around the world.

Personally I think this is a horrible idea. T20 is the ugliest, dirtiest and most pointless of the three formats and it advertises cricket in a negative way. Emerging teams should be focusing on building 50 over teams at least, as cricket is a sport where Test cricketers can succeed in shorter formats, but it definitely doesn't work the other way around.

The current Aussie test side is a good indication of the way cricket is heading. Go back 10 years and see how dominant we were and how committed every player in the team was to performing at their very best every time they took the field. That attitude and committed allowed the results to take care of themselves.

Since the guard changed, we've rebuilt our team into a bunch of f**ken useless, pea-hearted pretty boys who care more about how their hair looks than taking their opportunities on the field. If they don't stop this BS now, cricket will fade into oblivion just like our prospects of ever winning another test series have.

I think we really need to a least accept 20/20 as a legitimate form of entertainment. It's what it is, if it gets the numbers through the gates and in front of the tv, it does its job. No need compare it with test cricket.

Just think about the long way 20/20 has come since it started, and I think it's still changing fairly quickly. Players keep learning very specific tactics and techniques that they rarely use in other formats, it's gradually evolving into a unique sport, with its own skill set.

There's always gonna be more luck involved than in the longer formats but in the long run good players and good teams should become consistently successful and stand out. If/When that happens, then we can finally say that 20/20 cricket is a legitimate sport. I think we're well on our way there.

lol what over-dramatic bullshit.

They just aren't as talented as the blokes of 10 years ago, simple as that.

It'll never get in. Baseball got the punt because of the cost of building and maintaining an unecessary stadium. Cricket would create the same problem.
