Ta'ai on McManus

ok, we all like the big shot as a square up. But that swinging up with thick and I doubt it will go unpunished by the judiciary. 2 weeks for mine and, considering where we are in the season, Ta'ai may not be playing finals football.

with thick?
Didn't seem to be a lot in it tbh - and he hasn't got a bad judiciary record. 1 week max with early guilty plea, if he even gets charged.

I thought it was brilliant. That was a dirty shot on Locke by McManus. It deserved retribution! Did I see Ta'ai give the thumbs up to the boys, after the hit? Brilliant!

If you can beat a team with points, then you win. But if you beat a team with fear, than you've truly won.

Ta'ai lifted us - might have been over the top, but we needed a gee up. Some of you not at the ground might like to know that when we ran on to the field, Ukuma ran past the Knights bench on the way to ours - he aimed a few barbs their way. He was up for this one, and proved he should always be in the 17, if fit.

I'll check the replay - sounds hilarious haha. He was well in the anger zone!

Its exactly what he was picked for to fire up and offer impact. Probably the swinging arm wasnt called for but he made his presence felt

Hard. And in his second spell he made some awesome runs that got us on the front foot from our half leading up to our tries.
And do you mean he was taking the piss out of the Knights? That is so awesome - man I love Ukuma.

Akuma Matata - it means lots of worries.

It was an awesome shot, love him as a player as long as he doesn't cost you too much.

I loved the intent. Bringing back the intimidation factor to the pack. Got to love it.

Had a few looks at the replay. The swinging arm isn't too bad. It's pretty clear that he was attempting to punch the ball out on impact (making it look like a poor carry, knock on) Still think he'll get charged, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got off with an early guilty plea.

lol...

McManus' "shot" on Locke was a head collision, i think you'll find.

and Ta'ai should get a couple of weeks for the swinging arm. it was vicious, and got him flush while he was on the ground (it's the second shot you're looking at whilst McManus is on the ground, not the first... which was fine-ish). if you think it's the first impact that's the problem, you're looking at the wrong footage. McManus is lying on the ground, Ta'ai comes in over the top with his forearm... absolutely nowhere near the ball, and was quite blatent and ugly.

McManus on Locke was clumsy.

Ta'ai's 1st shot was McManus was beautiful.

Ta'ai's swinging arm is the issue- similar to Payne on Hayne. He will miss at least a week

Putting the opposition on edge or perhaps even on notice is fine and Ukuma can do that without illegal play.

He had already won the encounter having dropped McManus with the initial shot. There was no need to carry it on.

Ta'ai's initial shot was great, but the swinging arm was stupid and merits punishment.

Discipline isnt his strong point, he's the kind of beast you just wind up and let off the chain, hoping he doesnt do anything too geniused.

It wasn't all that smart, but my defence would be the following:

A guy with a poor record gets one week for kicking a bloke in the head, then gets off completely on appeal. Why does a guy with a clean record (as far as I know) deserve anything at all for a sloppy high arm?
