Taga & Penani

I like Penani but he tends to panic at times and does some silly things. But when he feels at ease he's pretty good.

that samoan team is ratshit...gonna get smashed in all three games

The irony is that the NRL is trying to spread the game but they themselves can't be bothered that much. If Sam Burgess was playing I would give GB a chance.

The outs for Australia include Slater,Hodges,Morris,Thurston,Gallen,Scott,Tamou,Merrin ,Boyd Watmough,Stewart's,Lewis,Fifita plus others. Starting props likely to be Woods and Parker.

Reminds me of when Sticky picked a team of dwarf forwards and lost. This probably still not be close as Hargreaves and Scheck also out. Still weeks to go. Who drops out next? If GB had more than Widdop and Tomkins in the backs and Sam was playing ,I would be taking the $11 in a three horse race. On your point. Quite correct. Samoa will get smashed.

Given the injuries at the 9s that will see massive pull outs too. Shame.

So basically , can an Australian A team win the 4 nations? Probably. James Graham might stir things up. Crowds will be garbage. Too many icons out. The trouble is there is no better time to play this comp.

Who is on the wing for Australia? Tupou and Dugan?

Dugan is injured.

Mansour will get the call up.

Penani is still working on a deal to stay with the club.

Forgotten about Dugan. Lots of experience missing. I suppose Bird and Thaiday give plenty though.

Not a big Penani fan, but prefer giving him a go than the likes of Keating and Holdsworth. Don't think he ever got back into coaches good books after spat with them.i don't see him even as good as CT. Or even much if any better than Jake Walsh. Chance for Tracey. As they say , old enough if good enough.

CB. Is Adam Reynolds so far out of favour at Souths he would join us? This has gotta be a beat up. Souths to the core. Surely his agent trying to get him extra coin. Huge mistake to leave your boyhood club for us. They just about have the next 5-7 years guaranteed to be in the mix. Madge can't like him. I think he is a perfect fit for Souths with their big boppers and go forward. Have his work cut out here. What's the story?

Madge brought the young gun from Melbourne when reynolds was looking out of sorts.
My info was Reynolds was given permission to look around and we were the ones throwing big money at him.
He then went on an increase of form and has now turned himself into a premiership winning halfback and an integral part of the Rabbits success.

I have no idea if he will test the market or not, but something has to give with Souths.
They cannot fit in Keary Reynolds and Cody.
I doubt we get Reynolds mate, I would now put us at 100/1.

The best scenario we could have hoped for was for him to play shit and Souths lose.
Unfortunately, it was Hodkinson who did that.

Thanks CB. What you say makes sense. They no longer have to take risks, so
I guess Reynolds stays as a proven player. Shame we didn't make a play for Cody Walker. Heard good things about him. Not going to be released this year though. I have yet to be convinced on Keary. Big raps at first. Then for me faded a bit. But latterly showing good promise. I guess he has a lot of upside.

Those Nikorima bros at the Broncs look good to me. They look to be shut out at the moment. Conclusion, Barba is the best viable alternative. Especially given his market value.

Cody Walker has def improved this year. Don't know that he's at nrl standard yet. He looks good in Q Cup, but it's a big step up into the NRL each week.

So we gave him a formal offer?

He's probably not on the market anymore, surely Souths want to keep him. Can't believe they would've let him test the water anyway, he was always going to come good.

To be fair to be penani he has never been given a "proper" chance at the club. To throw a kid on debut in round 2 with a host or big names missing against a very good team like the dogs was just a brain snap. Surely you can't judge him on that game alone.

He is very much a rocks or diamonds type of player but needs some time on the field with our top squad. Although Chad had many more opportunities in firsts I still believe the fact he never played with toddy was evident to never seeing the actual impact chad had on the team.

Agreed on Penani. When the season was well and truely over, Penani and Brown should have been put in the halves and told to play what was in front of them.
It's like we hate live wire footy.

I agree cb. Let the kids have a go when there is nothing to lose. Who knows, they might just develop into something special AND something we need.
