I get what you're saying. I don't think there's a contradiction, but its an interesting question.

Should a person who is proud of their Maori heritage and identifies themselves as a Maori (which Tahu may not) but is an Australian be able to represent the NZ Maori team.

dodge the question with more dribble

It will all go well in the Kiwi camp for Tahu, until somebody calls him a brown noser.

Then he will run home, crying to mummy.

Oh dear- another genius on the forum

Awesome comeback Meth :sarcasm:

You truely are gold. A person who wants Ropati in our starting line up week in week out and then says NO to Tahu, not even giving him a chance in our extended squad.

There's only one genius here......and its YOU

so many are quite happy for him to play maori...but not kiwis??

contradicting dont you think?

what is it the kiwi jersey has that the maori doesnt?
f**k off... there's no contradiction at all... the Maori representative concept is about whakawhanaungatanga and whakapapa rather than what country you live in.

as long as you identify as Maori and have the whakapapa to back it up and your proud to represent you whanau, hapu and iwi then you should be eligible for the Maori.

excluding people because of the country you live in is a pakeha thing... i have cousins who are born and bred in australia and have never been to NZ before... yet they consider themselves both australian and maori.

Don't worry about him. He's just a goose who thinks you're either related to or sleeping with Jerome Ropati if you at the least cringe his acceptability in the Warriors squad. And somehow don't choose to blame him for the faults of the right side defence in 2010 (even though he's on the left).

I consider myself Kiwi and 'any country that happens to be playing Australia'.
