Tahu, jealous over Scott's selection for NSW?

lol. It's all a cover up. Coming from people who would like it to be covered up.

I'm keen to see this proof from the conspiracy theorists that Tahu quit due to mysterious reasons.

What other reasons? Well apparently, for some, it's the first thing that pops into your head. Anything will do, as long we can brush racism aside as 'mildly offensive' and look upon it as the stuff of love.

TheRev and Spartan-Dragon, let's see the proof. Otherwise you're just making it up.

FMD, even Johns has come out and apologised for his racial slurs. Use a bit of logic lads.

I dont think its 'a conspiracy', but don't believe everything you read in the paper (sound familiar? lol). Something isnt right in Tahu's head, whether he is frustrated over losing his centre spot, frustrated with Johns or someone else in camp, having trouble with his family life, it doesn't matter what it was.

But I refuse to believe a footballer of sane mind would 'take his stand' not by talking to the coach or management, but by sneaking out to the train station and leaving blues camp days before the big game. This guy hangs around with footballers every day of his life, and for some reason he loses his mind on 1 remark from a life-long friend and coach? Give me a break.

Ever heard of Dennis Tutty? He took a stand and put at risk his entire career. I suggest you go have a look at his story.

I'm all for 'Never believe everything in the paper' but for Tahu to put together his own video stating his reasons, and for Johns to have lost his position with the Terrorgraph, Origin 2iC and potentially his 9 contract, if it wasn't true why would all these agencies drop one of the greatest players in the history of the game?!

To do that on spurrious reasons would make them liable for a defamation lawsuit. Since Johns is copping it on the chin, and not fighting back, it's fair to say the media has for once got this reasonably accurate.

Either provide some actual evidence to support your claim or GTFO the internet.

Or he doesn't approve of racism in the workplace. Yeah... Only a nut would find that offensive.

How do you know this? Or have you just made up that as well?

You don't know any of this.

So far we have been presented with loads of reasons why Tahu is in the wrong:

1. He was really quitting because he didn't want to play on the wing.
2. He should have kept his mouth shut.
3. He should said something earlier.
4. He shouldn't have been in the side to start with.
5. Family problems.
6. He must have a mental illness.
7. That time of the month.

And my favourite...

8. It's Anthony Mundine's fault.

Bottom line is that Tahu didn't create this situation. A fact that has been lost on you.

I'm using media releases as my source and Andrew Johns has apologised for making a racial slur. We know he made at least one racial slur. Suggestion is that it was not a one-off.

In fact, the NRL media release refers to it in the plural: "Johns today publicly apologised for comments..."

Numerous media outlets also refer to the it in the plural. It seems that this was not a one-off.

The Australian dug a little deeper:

THE racism scandal enveloping Andrew Johns has deepened with the disgraced NSW assistant coach accused of using several offensive racist slurs including "coon", "Abbo", "n****r" and "monkey" at a boozy Blues bonding session last week.

But imo, even one racist comment, coming from the assistant coach of all people, is one too many.

Tahu has said he left because of this.

Timana Tahu:

“Joey said something which he thought was just some banter amongst the boys that I took offence to."

“It is something I feel strongly about. To sacrifice my NSW Origin jumper and to give up the chance of bringing the trophy back to NSW is obviously something I gave a lot of thought to."

“But I felt I had to make a statement that this sort of behaviour in any environment is unacceptable and, as a senior player, I had to show that."

Andrew Johns:

“I said something without thinking which I deeply regret."

“I have learned a massive lesson from this and I am devastated that it caused Timana to give up his Origin jersey."

“I am deeply sorry I have hurt Timana, who is someone I have always had a lot of respect for, and his family, too."

“I can’t apologise strongly enough."

“I didn’t realise until then how ignorant I was and I want to make that point to him when I get the chance to apologise to Timana in person.

“I look forward to sitting down with Timana and learning from him what is acceptable when it comes to sensitive issues such as this."

"Like many people, I have a lot to learn.”

Now.... what sources are you using to support your view that Tahu has quit for some other reason?

Duno how to link from my phone, but if you google - Phil rothfield tahu Andrew johns - it should be the first article that comes up. It's dated 14 June 2010 "inside the Andrew johns race scandal"

Phil Rothfield? OK, assuming you're being fair dinkum, the answer to your question is in the article. It says Tahu initially wanted there to be minimal disruption to the team. It should be noted that this goes against those who feel Tahu is the problem.

Tahu endured years of abuse as a Knight: O'Davis

Former Knights fullback Robbie O’Davis says Timana Tahu was regularly racially abused during his six NRL seasons at Newcastle.

Speaking in the current issue of Rugby League Week magazine, on sale today, O’Davis applauds Tahu’s stance and says the 29-year-old dual international was not the only one of his former Newcastle teammates subjected to racial slurs while at the Knights.

Now a Knights director, O’Davis suggested a racist attitude within the club forced former Australian Schoolboys star Owen Craigie to leave the Knights in 1999.

Tahu pulled out of the NSW Origin team last Friday in response to racist comments NSW assistant coach and former Knights captain Andrew Johns made about Queensland centre Greg Inglis in Tahu’s presence at a Blues bonding session.

Johns, who has since quit as Blues assistant coach, referred to Inglis as a ‘‘black c---’’ but Tahu has since indicated his former NSW and premiership-winning Knights captain made offensive comments ‘‘directed at various races’’.

‘‘Timana has heard all this before and has had it said to his face a heap of times,’’ O’Davis tells the magazine.
