tahu vs idris

Idris bludged the entire first half. Very overrated player, good for only 10 minutess of anything in a match.

Mateo looked up and saw Idris in front of him and just accelerated into and through him. Tahu looked like he was wanting to do the same in the first half, just didn't get the ball.

Idris should be targeted more often, and then his flaws will be on show. Pity in the second half Idris seemed to get on top of Tahu with that lucky try, and then mentally as well.

Great attacking player Idris. Has ben terrific the past couple of weeks. He's slow to accelerate though and turn around, that's why kickers always put attacking grubbers behind him cause he's not fast enough to get them before the attacking players, or when the ball is spread down his side he doesn't have the side to side movement and always gets caught out. Once he fills out will make a great backrower though.

It is only fitness and some mental toughness he is lacking. Incredibly slow in lateral defense.

But anyone who thinks he lacks talent has NFI. Outpointed Tahu last night, who was absolutely primed to teach him a lesson.

I give kudos to Tahu for being restrained and not wanting to smack his stupid pigtailed face into oblivion after the little stoush, I would have loved to have been able to tell him where to shove his finger !!!!!

slow in defence and slow to turn and chase. I will give him points on the fact that when Tahu tried to stand up to him it managed to fire him up and he started to play some good footy.

Tahu missed about 97 tackles in the second half just trying to smash everyone. Idris got under his skin, outplayed and out-brained a seasoned professional.

he was pretty f'n keen to hit something hey! ..... he also kept running out of the line every time canterbury came that way - actually cut them off alot too ..... so while idris got the better of the times they "came together", tahu did a decent job of stopping idris get the ball as much as he could have

tbh I'm sick of this "X got the points over Y" sh*t .... its a 13 on 13 game - no one player goes up against another in an individual battle .... the team that wins gets "the points"

i think a few people have got caught in the hype. tahu missed idris a couple of times towards the end, once leading up to a try, but before that tahu was smashing blokes left right and centre, got idris a beauty in the first 5 minutes, knocked the ball out of ryan and a few others.

let's not lose sight of the fact that teams sh*t themselves running down tahu's side of the field lately because of the caning they know they're most likely going to cop. eg cows, they were petrified.

I would have liked to have seen that too. I don't think Tahu would have had it all his way. I remember Matai wanted to have a go round 1 last year and Idris more than held his own.

If I recall correctly Idris turned in another powerhouse performance immediately after.

Actually, there was a bit of push and shove beforehand with Tahu and Idris.

Tahu won where it mattered, on the scoreboard. Idris' finger means jack, im sick of these younger players not respecting the veterens. JWH and Petro last year in the 4Nations, Richie Williams and Anasta, Idris and Tahu now.
