If he was keen on Manly he would have gone there earlier surely - I'm pretty sure they made a massive play for him when we got him from the Knights?

outside of Lote he could probably the outside back in most demand which is the reason why we're doing our best to tie him sooner rather than later, obviously before Lote makes a decision.

It pretty much came down between us and manly from memory. Manly had Ben Kennedy trying to talk him to join them.

It seems that our ability to re-sign Tahu may be stiffled because of the dispute between Tahu, his old manager and new manager which apparantly may end up in court.

That is probably very true but I would not like to get a bidding war for him which results in us paying overs for him (say 400k). As talented as he is he is a bit injury prone and I would probably prefer we spend the big bucks on O'Meley and/or O'Donnell.

Then again I have always been of the belief that forwards win matches and are harder to unearth than outside backs. Look at blokes like Inglis, Hunt and Hayne just to name a few. Young decent outside backs tend to come along pretty often

Is Lote Tuquiri a better player now than when he left to play with the Wallabies?
Is he younger?
No - then how come he can command big dollars???

he can command as much as he gets no matter what it is...if there's someone out there willing to pay him big, well that's what his actually worth.

I don't think he's a worse player - just got less time left in the game ..... he's older and wiser now

I would not swap Tahu for any centre in the world. If Benny has a similar year to 2006 and Inu does not progress I would go all out for Justin Hodges.

Big Ben will be in the top 6 centres in the game this year. Injury free the big man will dominate out wide I believe.
