It was the greatest show i have ever been to. So Come Back I am Waiting, black, no Key No Plan, Blanket and Crib, Westfall..........faint.
I will tell you how lucky I actually am though. My mate and I had Thursday off due to the rain so we wandered to Newtown at about 5pm. We went to the level one bar thinking wed have a few drinks for an hour or two, and then, enter Will Scheff, Travis and Patrick from the band. They introduce themselves and invite us up to the soundcheck. We watch them mess around for a while and catch Will recording a video of a new song for their upcoming dvd. Afterwards they wander over to us with beer in hand, have a few drinks with us, telling us where to get the beer from backstage and then have dinner with them, which included techila shots and arm wrestles.
Now I drank with them from about 6 - 8:30. I don't want to talk myself up but it takes me quite a few schooners to get smashed and i was feeling it by then. At this poing we split up to go catch the model school, while they kept drinking. I'm sure they drank until they got onstage (not Will, the frontman though). Oh yeah, and Travis tried to buy "about a couple of grams of pot, just for tonight" off me.
So blind drunk, they did play awesome music and an awesome set list.
Now, I just can't wait for Shearwater to tour.
