Was really awesome to win that game down against all the odds but I thought there were quite a few points to talk about.
-Alex Johnston needs the ball. This kid is an absolute weapon whenever he touches the ball. I was pissed off that he wasn't getting enough ball against Canberra but I'm glad they've decided to use him more in their set plays. Kid is a weapon of a ball carrier.
-Young guns are really coming through. Crichton, fuimaono, Murray, musgrove even young Graham have really made a difference to this Souths pack. Just look at their statistics compared to some of our veterans, these kids have a lot of potential in the NRL.
-Walker is a 5/8th not a fullback. Fans have been screaming for this change almost the whole season. Walker's decision making at first receiver is just so much better. I feel that we create threats from places other than Reynolds boot when him and Johnston are running/playing the ball.
-Burgess twins slowly getting back to their best. We give a lot of shit to the twins on here but I honestly believe they had a solid game without being spectacular. Didn't notice any errors from them and I hope this is building blocks for them heading into 2018.
-Cameron Mcinnes. Now personally I was really hesitant to put this point up because of the controversy it would cause on here and my own personal bias towards Cook but I'm gonna put it up anyway. Cook needs to be our 80 minute hooker going forward. He completely outplayed Mcinnes tonight and really showed his talent when Souths were behind. I personally thought Mcinnes was extremely average and I don't think he offers much besides a sturdy body defending in the middle. He is a lock realistically not a hooker. I don't mind Farah but I don't think there's any point of paying 500k for him next season. I hope he retires tbh.
