Tasmanians in the NRL?

Hey there guys, long time lurker, first time thread starter

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's ever been a Tasmanian in the NRL.

Also, the AFL have never given the Tasmanians a football team, do you think that the NRL could exploit this and convert Tasmanians to NRL by giving them a team?

Cheers.

BPB.

We can't even get a Victorian in the NRL let alone thinking about Tassie players. There's a reason why the AFL have no interest whatsoever in putting a team in Tassie despite it being AFL heartland.

Tahu is a Victorian, as for Victorian produce players they will be coming into grade in the next 1-3 years.

Peter Wallace and Jake Webster were Victorians as well as Tahu.

Fantastic Av peppermint nightmare. No Tasmanians that I know of. An NRL team down yonder would be a long way off.

Gareth Widdop, although a Pom, played junior grades in Melbourne as well as Jeremy Smith.

Craig Polla Mounter and Luke Phillips were born in Melbourne.

Again, where you were born is meaningless. Where you spent your teenage years is far far more important. When we get blokes in the NRL who lived in Victoria from the age of 13 to 18, then we're getting somewhere. The AFL has dozens of players who were born and raised in NSW and QLD. That's where the NRL needs to be in the next few years.

And about Tasmania, they'll have an NRL team when Newcastle has an AFL team.

They may have been born there, but that's as far as it goes. All three players moved elsewhere when they were just little kids, and didn't take up rugby league until after that. A hell of a lot different to a Victorian junior.

Tasmania hahahahaha. The place in the Merry Melodies cartoons? Thats the only time I've ever heard of it.

The Tassie Devil would be a hell of a Front Rower though and could be the innagrual captain.

Nothing like that would ever happen in real life though.

You're a classic, man.

Stop changing the question to suit yourself, we are talking about Victorians born players in the NRL, we are not talking about Victorian produce players you nit wit.

And I'm trying to point out (these mundane tasks are left to the more intelligent among us, like myself) that where your mother decided to pop you out means absolutely nothing to the game. Where you were produced into an NRL capable player is the thing that matters.

Were they or were they not born in Victorian?

The Question wasn't "which players has the VRL produced into the NRL?"

There was no question posed in the first place. I was the one who brought up Victorian players and did so referring to Victorian juniors. It comes down to what you consider 'Victorian' 'QLDer' or 'New South Welshman' as those are interpretationional terms. If you're going simply by where a certain player is born than that is just one characteristic out of many.

Sorry i got that far and laughed hard.

btw, no body is denying that obvious point of yours. In fact, its so obvious that you are the only poster hummering on about it. It doesn't change the fact that people with Victorian Birth certificates have made the NRL before which is all the above post were claiming, nothing more, nothing less.

Off to the toilet now.
