Smart move. If you can't beat em, join em.

he's scored some great tries and done some wonderful stuff for the broncos, however the last few years he hasnt been at his best, he seems too inconsistent. good luck to the warriors, i'm happy to save the money and make sure someone like Eastwood stays.

p.s. we'll do a two for one, not only can the warriors take Tate, they can have Boyd for free, ask nicely and we may also give you Perry

No deal. Boyd is too valuable for the Broncos!:D

Good buy for the warriors.

Agreed.

Upset Cronulla could not get him, or even seem to be chasing him? Can not blame him though even if they were, id be wanting some better halves before i joined a sharks backline.

It's amazing how low an opinion people can have of a guy who is only 25 and has played something like 17 tests for the Kangaroos. Fair play if you personally don't rate him, but a lot of important people obviously do.

Best of luck Brent.

Hopefully we'll see more of Emmett and Kemp now.

Kemp,Boyd on the wings, Emmett & Hodges centres, Wallace/Lockyer halves, Hunt at FB. Not a bad backline!:D

I'm relieved he decided to stay in the NRL and not head over to the ESL. Although he'll be 28 or 29 when his contract with the Warriors expires so he could always head over then. I didn't realize how young he is.

Yeah he debuted back in 2001 as a 19 year old then in 2002 he played his first Origin and Test match. On his day one of the best Centres going, sadly since his ankle injury back in 2005 he hasn't been the same player as he once was, although he played well for QLD in Origin 3 last year.

The best try I saw Tate score was back in 2005 playing for Australia. He was a very controversial pick out at Left Centre with a lot of people on this board calling for his head (or neck). Anyways NZ are up by 18-0 and nothing is doing for Australia as the ball comes to Minichiello on his 20m line after a kick, the chasers have Mini all lined up so he passes the ball to Tate. Tate then runs straight beating Jones and then he runs to the outside, palming off both Asotasi and Webb before scoring one of the best individual tries I have ever see.

Best of luck Tate, as they say, if you can't beat them join them!

Yeah I remember that try. That was one of the greatest tries of all time. He made Webb his biatch.

I'm concerned still about his error rate, to be honest, I'm surprised at his consistent rep selection because it seems his club form in between times can be fairly poor. I recall a Warriors Broncos game at Suncorp in 2003, the match where Tuimavave scored from a pass "the likes of which we've never seen before", he gifted the Warriors two tries earlier with two fundamental blunders, including being forced out on tackle one from the middle of the field on a kick return trying to round Francis Meli. Next time down there he throws a pass on tackle one or two, Meli knocks it up, intercepts, untouched try.

I was sort of turning towards signing him though tbh after that try of his against Newcastle. There's no one really at the Warriors currently who can win a game straight up with one individual play, and I guess that's what Po Tateo and the Bernina Ironing Board brings to the Warriors.
