Tautau Moga is the slowest winger to have ever played the game

Does the name Todd Byrne mean nothing to you people? Intelligent player, tough as a two dollar stake, but got mowed down by an ancient Scott Sattler with ease on a heavy 10 in the 2003 grand final.

You stole my thunder. So I'll mention Michael Erickson, Parramatta in the 80's- 90's. Was more of a centre, but played a good deal on the wing.

forgot about purts, slight twist on the speed debate poll kalififa fai fai loa while in townsville if it involved just sprinting in a straight line in space to score he somehow couldn't do it and would invent a way to get caught by the defence. He would step back in or out to take on 3 defenders and attempt some impossible put down in the corner (which he did score some pearlers) but just couldn't run a straight line and plant the ball down. Even when he was unmarked and was just a catch pass and needed to fall over the line it would still be some awkward tumble with the ball in one hand behind his back or something.

Not the slowest, but if you were picking a winger to not score after plucking an intercept at the 10m line with open field infront of him...........he would manage to get pushed out in the corner on the opposite side of the field somehow

If Moga had just went for the corner full throttle he'd have made it. The slowing down and looking to go infield or put a step on around 15-20 metres out killed his momentum.

I once saw this bloke take an intercept in the final minute against Canberra. I figured that was game over so headed to the car to beat the rush. I got home, put the kids to bed, had a dump and a shower, porked the Mrs, fed the dog. made a coffee and turned the telly on to check other results and caught the end of the game in real time to watch him trundle the final 10 metres and collapse over the line to score.
Who is that? Remind me.

Best part is it's a true story.

The writer took a few liberty's with the "sprinting" part in the first paragraph, but it happened. I can only assume the Raiders players being well acquainted with Spurty Purts figured some f**ker would round him up as they all headed to the sheds. They thought they had won the game until they stopped at Goulburn Maccas on the way home and caught the Panthers players celebrating on the telly as Purts lay on the ground clutching his chest.
More details, love it.

The replay from behind the Dragons line was priceless. He grabbed the intercept and clearly was in distress about the possibility of having to go the length. It looked like super slo-mo but may have been in real time.
