I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to suggest Feeney puts his attributes towards fullback not the halves. If this had been identified two years ago he'd already be ahead of Mamo imo.

I'm also not convinced Mamo is faster. He looks not as quick as his reputation, while Feeney is even quicker than his.

Never been a fan of Mamo... Makes one freak try assist and everyone is going crazy over him. Might be a decent athlete but teams like the Rooster and Storm are filled to the brim with young outside backs much better than Mamo.

That's our full strength side based on the 9s and 2015 form.

We need to sign a centre mid-season and then we might just shock a few people (scrape into the 8)

Id probably use tapine in the centres instead of chanel now that it's looking certain he's going to canberra.
Chanel will never be anything, so frankly I couldn't care less if his confidence is destroyed in first grade. Sione might be a first grade quality centre one day, so i'd rather ease him into the NRL by having him play a full season on the wing.

We need another centre badly. We don't have Sione for the start of the season as it is and realistically Gagai should be playing fullback. His defence isn't up to standard at centre and none of the other fullback options are up to it at the moment.

Has Mamo been training at fullback?
We know Feeney has and some of the younger guys have trained in positions they won;t be first in place for - yet.
Impression I get is that some of these guys might get a run this year bit that players such as Feeney won;t be first choice.

I could see Feeney working as a centre. Defense would be his biggest issue initially, not an easy spot to defend... especially when you've never really played there. He has the speed, size and ball skills required, though.

Tbh, I struggle to think of many centres with top tier defense. It's the hardest position to defend IMO. I think Feeney would do fine in the centres; he's got the speed and a good step. Having those ball skills could work wonders setting up his winger, back inside to a backrower or linking up with the fullback. I personally want to see more from Mamo under Brown before joining the "Feeney to fullback" train but he's such a versatile player that we can play him anywhere and he'll do fine.

My best possible team.

1. Gagai
2. Mamo
3. Pat
4. Sione
5. Uate
6. Mullen
7. Hodkinson
8. Snowden
9. Levi
10. Sims
11. Rochow
12. Stockwell
13. T Sims

14. Paea
15. Mataora
16. Smith
17. Bhana

That's a pretty balanced bench with both size and mobility. The biggest concern about the team is hooker and fullback (half the spine). If Levi can improve rapidly then I'd feel more confident in the team. I wouldn't mind Sims playing a game similar to Smith but with more size. I like the idea of a big and aggressive starting forward back as to control the ruck in the early periods whilst the flow of the game is being sussed out. Then we have Smith who is a good lateral defender and has a high work rate comes on combined with Paea's size and we would hopefully hold our own.

I must also add that I'm more confident in our forwards than our outside backs.

Playing in the halves means he would be used do defending one in from the centres so it wouldn't be as big a step as one might expect

I want him to be the ball playing fullback we all know we need but time is ticking

Ive always wondered how Mullen would go in the Centres...

Most of us would agree that he has been disappointing in how he has gone at Half. Now, with Hodko at HalfBack (assuming he picks up a bit) and with the like of Feeney/Lamb/Cogger coming through, it might be worth taking him out of the playmaker role and using him on an edge. (Good defence, good peed and footwork, ability to put winger into space; ).

Then again, he is 28. Maybe just send him to England.....
