St George Illawarra have named an unchanged team for Saturday night’s clash with the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.Coach Steve Price has chosen lock Dean Young in the starting line-up, after he started on the bench in the 15-14 victory over Newcastle at Hunter Stadium.
Hard-running forward Jack De Belin is listed on the bench along with Nathan Fien, Leeson Ah Mau and Trent Merrin, who made a stunning start to the season, running for 183 metres against the Knights.
Price has also chosen centre Matt Cooper, who came from the field with an ankle sprain in the season opener.

The Team

Kyle Stanley, Brett Morris, Matt Cooper, Beau Scott, Jason Nightingale, Jamie Soward, Ben Hornby, Michael Weyman, Mitch Rein, Jeremy Latimore, Matt Prior, Ben Creagh, Dean Young. Interchange: Nathan Fien, Trent Merrin, Jack De Belin, Leeson Ah Mau.

I notice we're favourites with the bookies to win this one. Our performance against Knights must have impressed them!

I see Beau Scott is still named at centre.....either Price is happy with him there or maybe he is leaving him in there should Coops not play ?

I think Scott will play centre regardless of how Cooper is going. Scott is a specialist right side player, it would be very unlikely he would move to the left.
This is also a smart team selection imo, as it would enable Vidot/Chase/Green to come into the side if Coops isn't ready, without any media attention during the week.

I'm happy the same team was named a smart move in my opinion. Even if Price was unhappy with some players performance in round one it is important to keep their confidence up.

Are Vidot/Chase both not available? The only thing I like about having Scott at Right Centre is it sort of gives us 1 more forward, but its a big price to pay.

Chase didn't turn out for the cutters, so maybe still not fit or on standby for Cooper. Not sure how Vidot played, there was a post about the game over in the other forum I think, but I don't remember Vidot getting rave reviews. I'd like to see Stanley play a full 80mins of football before he gets a start in NRL side.

cooper only 50/50 at the moment..
i think DeBelin should start again, and Young to the bench.
we seriously need to get Scott back into the back row, and out of the backline.. nightingale already looked starved of quality ball after 1 match... scott is not a passer, and not being a specialist centre doesnt have the ability to position his winger.

Agree.. But Until we have quality centers we have no option.
Price obviously doesn't believe Stanley or vidot have the goods right now.

Any juniors we can guys?

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. I'm not too fussed. Maybe Chase can have a blinder and force Scott into the pack when Coops returns. That wouldn't be a bad result.

If they choose not to risk Coops C Stanley HAS to play...one part timer is more than enough in Beau.

Agreed. Interestingly there is a fair bit of speculation in Jubilee that Marketo may get the job. I love Marketo as a player and he has obviously bulked up a lot (size has held him back). Never seen him play centre but I believe he played five eight for the Cutters on the weekend. I wonder how he would go?
